Lol Purdue.
Rodgers had been an unrecruited 165-pound high school quarterback from Chico, Calif., who once received a letter from the Purdue coaching staff that read, "Good luck with your attempt at a college football career."
Pretty amazing. Who's passive aggressive in a rejection letter?

As a Purdue grad, I cringed when I read that.

I had a friend who got rejected from a job a few weeks ago who got a letter that implied that he was wasting his and their time by applying. It said something like "we received applications from a number of qualified candidates. You were not one of them." Like, just straight up mean and deflating.
We had a good laugh about it, because an employer who is enough of an ass to send something like that is probably someone who isn't worth working for.

That's ridiculous. What a piece of **** organization.

Absolutely. It's a sign of incompetence and immaturity for any official communication to go out the door looking like that. Young company?

As **** up as it was, I'd still argue that the tactics the Padres used here were even more despicable.

If only Reed hadn't been banned. He could defend this.

Amazingly, I had already forgot about him. I would have loved to hear him chime in on this.

I swear to God, I had the same exact post written like three hours ago and must've failed to post it before I left for the gym.

It was some law firm on the West Coast - I think I remember it being a smaller firm but I don't exactly recall. I just couldn't believe the audacity of the employer to send something so patently rude. It was mind-blowing, to the point that when he handed it to me and he saw the reaction on my face as I was reading it, he burst out laughing and I couldn't help but join him.

I like the Rodgers / Starr connection. Starr's brilliance was his character, leadership & game IQ = great influence on Rodgers who was/is fertile soil. Confidence & humility can be quite a challenge for a mega-star to balance. Starr & Rodgers have been successful. Add the precision, study, attention to details, & field awareness to considerable physical gifts - arm strength & mobility and Rodgers is pretty amazing. Man are we luuuuckeeee! God bless Thompson!!!
