For some reason it makes me angry that they snap-reached an agreement after we get **** over. It should make me happy that this is being resolved but it feels like we were ones who got sacrificed to make this happen.

(If this is true of course.)

Pisses me off too. Especially since whatever deal they end up doing could have easily been done weeks/months ago if the owners weren't a bunch of wrinkled prune faced Jerry Jone's.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It's annoying because after the preseason and the first two weeks, there was plenty of evidence to suggest that it was only a matter of time before a game was decided by incompetent officiating. But better late than never.

One day too late for us maybe, not necessarily two. If they don't jump the gun making the statement to support the replacement refs farcical decision in order to not give even more leverage to the real refs, they might be willing to overturn the game's outcome with a deal in place. Now they can't go back and admit they're full of crap.

They were never going to overturn the game.

One point of contention in this dispute that I agree with the owners on is that they wanted 3 extra crews so that "underperforming" officials would work less games during the season. Currently an official is guaranteed 16 games. The league wanted to be able to replace officials, or whole crews, for some games if they were graded poorly. I like that idea. I don't know how this point was ultimately settled.

You don't know. There's no real precedent for it, but was there precedent for an event like this either? It was the worst call in NFL history that had a direct impact on an outcome of a game.

I can't wait until a team gets screwed by the regular refs, haha.

It probably wasn't the worst call ever (lots of bad ones in history when IR wasn't around), but it's the worst single call (end of game) that directly decided a win/loss of the game AND it WAS reviewable and they STILL got it wrong.

King:

The NFL will have Hochuli to thank for the training sessions the NFL has not been able to run because he has run some of his own.

Every Tuesday night, the veteran official with the Popeye arms has been holding rules-related conference calls with all officials. Average attendance on the calls, I'm told, is between 90 and 110 per week. Hochuli, the officiating sources says, gives all officials a test each week, similar to one they might get from the NFL during a regular week of preparations, and then goes over the results on the phone with the officials.

"That's one of the reasons why the officials will be up to date and ready to go,'' the officiating source said. "Ed grabbed the bull by the horns and made sure that whenever this thing ended, the regular officials would be ready to go back to work immediately.''

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I feel this exact same thing. We are the only team in the NFL without a greedy owner and we were hit harder than any other team by this experiment.

I look at it as the Packers saving the NFL's asses. As pissed as I am with Monday's outcome, there's a timeless quality about all this. People will be talking about this for decades.

Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora

Deal between the NFL and locked out officials is imminent and would include language allowing regular refs to work Thursday night game

This calls for a sexy party.
