Week 5: Colts Lead Up
Mike Neal is eligible to play this week, I wonder if they activate him right away. My guess is Merling is gone. I still think Neal can give us something.
Obviously a must win game with at Texans following it, which could be our toughest test of the season.
I'd sit Greg.

Yeah, I think the Texans are a favorite against us for sure. I rank the top 3 teams in the NFL right now:
1. Giants
2. Texans
3. 49ers
I also think this should be one of our easier games of the year. The Colts just aren't very good right now.

Just think they are the most talented and balanced team in the league. I think having Eli puts them above the 49ers/Texans.

Re: Week 5: Colts Lead Up
I see them as balanced on O, but not D. Their entire d is based on their pass rush. You can shred their secondary if you block the pass rush. Granted, it's like that for a lot of teams. I think Philly is more balanced than NYG and probably more talented, but they also are more hit and miss. I wouldn't put the Giants in my top 3 teams right now though. My top 3 is Houston-Atlanta-San Fran probably.

Re: Week 5: Colts Lead Up
I think they lose too much to be considered the best, but that's just my take. You could also say they won the Super Bowl too recently to not be, though.

Re: Week 5: Colts Lead Up
The Giants are too Jekyll/Hyde to be a Super Bowl favorite, plus they won it last year so there is the whole "it's tough to repeat" thing. There aren't really any clear favorites in my opinion, I think there's a good possibility that a hot wildcard team wins it all.

I still think we're as talented as anybody if not moreso.

Agreed. Just taking a while to put it together this year. As long as we make it and are playing well in December, that's all I care about.

Re: Week 5: Colts Lead Up
I do remember a quote from Rodgers before game 1 this year when asked if he learned anything from last year. His response was something to the tune of, "if you aren't hot in December/January, then nothing matters."
I wonder if the offense as a whole has come in a bit more relaxed to the season hoping to ramp things up as it goes on. Last year, from day 1 of training camp, there was extreme pressure/hype going on.

Re: Week 5: Colts Lead Up
Rodgers loves domes and we play the next 3 in them.
Definitely sit Jennings. Hope his hammy isn't chronic. His bank account hopes the same thing.
Pack open up as 7 point favs.
I believe Colts required fans wanting tix to this game to also buy a preseason game due to the expected large number of Packer fans buying tickets. But I always thought they were sold out every game. I'm just confused I guess

Yeah, I have relatives in Indiana who are big Packers fans. They had to buy a package deal that came with a preseason game, another game (crappy opponent, not sure who though), and the Packers game.

Re: Week 5: Colts Lead Up
it'll be interesting to see who it is that neal replaces on the roster. merling? lattimore? richardson? saine?
i'd imagine that if they cut merling, and then later in the season have an injury along the d line, they could either promote guy from the ps or re-sign merling if he doesn't get picked up by another team.

They have a week exemption before they have to make a call. My guess is someone goes on IR.

Already looking forward to this game, which is odd because every game so far this season has been nothing but torture.

This team is going to be playing for their coach, who is battling leukemia.

Re: Week 5: Colts Lead Up
From MM's presser
•Jennings groin flared up on him where he couldn't take a full stride. Back where we were a week ago and an option could be to shut him down for a week or two.
•Have a one-week roster exemption for DE Mike Neal.
•Important for Neal to go through a week's practice. Know he's been working out, for sure. Hasn't been practicing for four weeks though.
•Thought receiver group played well. Graded out well. More physical, more intensity. Pleased the way they responded. It was the pace, tempo and timing we were looking for.
•Heart goes out to Colts coach Chuck Pagano. I support him. Wish him well.
• What stands out with schedule was first four weeks, but even more was three straight road games. We've been practicing crowd noise since spring. Might adjust a couple of things.
•MD Jennings, not a high level of concern with his shoulder injury. Test him before Wednesday.
•If you look at defensive performance, Saints were very uptempo. Got into seven DBs, but weren't as in synch as would have liked to be. Mechanics of getting into scheme wasn't good.
•Changed who had headset on on defense and with the pace of the game didn't adjust well. Something they learned about this past week.
•Starks' status is determined duirng the week. Will discuss the players feel about being up and there will be 10 or 12 names on other side of the board that will be competing to get in with the 46. Don't ever say this is the 46 we're going with this early in the week.
• With replay on Graham catch, referee said the ball did not move. Almost didn't challenge. Challenged Jordy Nelson catch and regretted it. Saw a clean shot on video board and thought it was a catch. But later saw a different view. The Graham was a good challenge. The Nelson one was a big management decision.
•Ton of communication with the fumbled kickoff. It's about getting the thing right. THat was an obvious fumble. That happens.
•Dezman Moses clearly had the ball. Players are taught to show they have it clear cut. Are players did everything right.
•Personal fouls, the one with B.J. Raji, he's lucky he didn't get thrown out of the game. You have to watch that stuff.

I find this interesting from above

I assume he means they switched from Hawk but he didn't say to who...
