Finley Vs. Nelson

One of the most common topics among Packer fans the past few years has been JerMichael Finley and his lack of production, drops, antics, etc.
It has also been fairly well documented, the amount of drops of Jordy Nelson has had, but yet we do not hear about this issue at nearly the rate we talk about J-Mike.
My personal thoughts, are that because he has chosen to fly more underneath the radar, Nelson has not received nearly the amount of scrutiny that Finley has. Plus, Nelson's numbers from last season, especially plays of 20+ yards and his touchdown total, seem to make Packer fans forget less about his drops.
I am curious everyone's thoughts on this topic, would we talk about Finley less if he had chosen to behave differently over the past few seasons? For what it is worth, I have been a strong supporter of J-Mike and want to see him succeed. But I have yet to see any type of real progress that would lead me to believe that he is headed in a more consistant direction.

You already said it. Nelson makes huge plays. More big plays than drops, it seems. He struggled the first few games of the season but he seems to have snapped out of it.

We are lucky to get consecutive catches from Finley. I trust Nelson much more, plus he doesnt make any waves in the media.

Hands down I would take Nelson over Finley any day of the week.

I could see Nelson vs Gronk or Graham. But Finley is a bum. If only Finley put as much time in preparing for football as he does sneaking around every week with random girls.
Zing!

Same as any other line of work. The more you produce, the more people are willingly to overlook some of your shortcomings.

http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/lead ... g&rank=232Nelson has 5 thus far and Finley has 4. Just thought it would be an interesting topic for conversation.
Yikes for Dallas with Witten and Dez...

I think, at least up to this point in their careers, Nelson just max's out the 'eye-test,' above and beyond anything that Finley's done on the field. From about half way through the 2010 season, and thru all of last year, game in / game out, Nelson continued to make very difficult catches, where he would have to twist backwards, or contort his body in some extraordinary way, to get his hands on the ball, and we would see him grasp the ball strong and cleanly in his hands. I've been watching football since Scott Hunter led the Packers to the playoffs

, and I've never seen a WR continuously make those very difficult catches the way Nelson did for that year and a half.
I think that's why people have the love for Nelson, even with his slow start this year. They've still waiting to see anything close to that from Finley.

McGinn had him with 5. He had 10 the previous season.
Finley had 13 last year.
