Hypothetical Situation Thread

I thought it would be fun to have a thread like this to debate the "what if's" in the final weeks of the season here. I will post the first one:

What if?

The Packers win out and end up 12-4...
The 49ers lose to NE and then win out and end up 11-4-1
The Falcons beat the Lions in 2 weeks but lose to the Giants and Buccaneers and end up at 12-4 like the Packers....

Who gets the #1 seed?

Green Bay would get the #1 seed.

The Packers. San Fran is clearly behind with 11 wins and the Packers have the conference record tiebreaker over ATL.

I'd rather get the 2, and have the Giants out of the playoffs.

Yeah thats what I figured - it would be awesome to get the #1 seed and have a first round bye. Don't want to see the Giants as they seem to be the one team that owns us. However, facing them in Lambeau for redemption would be fun!!

She's a type that is 9 a bar, but I wouldn't put her high up on the celebs list, though. I do like her personality and edge that sets her apart.

OT: How's this for a hypothetical situation. Bears miss the playoffs due to the Seahawks sneaking in. After all that fuss on how the scab refs could screw the Packers, when it actually screws the Bears.

I would absolutely love if the Bears lost out to the Seahawks for the last playoff spot due to that debacle, especially if we still manage to get a bye. I went to high school in Chicago and have family down there and so many of them were non stop after that game and refused to even admit that the refs messed up(much like they did after they stole a game with the Megatron "non processed" touchdown a couple of years ago). It would be very schadenfreude for me if they missed the playoffs due to that bad call.

That potential outcome is fun just imagining.

How about this one, I feel like its the mother of all hypotheticals because it could lead to a complete and total realgm packer forum meltdown. It's not even totally implausible that it could happen either:

Lets say that the 49ers lose to the pats but beat the Seahawks the following week, the packers win the next two weeks against the bears and titans, the bears lose their next two against the packers and cards, the vikings win their next two against st louis and then against a houston team possibly pulling back the reigns after having locked up the #1 seed, the giants lose their next two against the falcons and ravens, the redskins win their next two games but the cowboys lose their next two, and the Seahawks beat buffalo next week (but lose to SF like I mentioned before).

This would mean that going into the last week of the season the bears and cowboys would essentially be out of playoff contention and the redskins would have already clinched the division (because they would have a one game lead over the giants and would also own the tiebreaker over the giants even if they lost to the cowboys and the giants won), and therefore the giants only playoff avenue would be as a wildcard. They would also be one game behind the Seahawks and and Minnesota for the last wildcard spot, and considering the Seahawks play the rams IN SEATTLE in their final game I would say that the giants playoff hopes (assuming they beat philly in their last game) would come down to the Vikings losing to the packers (in that scenario the giants will have a better conference record and will therefore win the wildcard tiebreaker over the Vikings). At the same time, the packers would hold a half game lead over the 49ers for the 2 seed and the bye going into the final week, and considering that the niners play the cards for their final game and should win easily, the packers getting or not getting the 2 seed and a bye would be completely dependant on beating the Vikings in Minnesota.

That would mean a packer victory in that game would secure the 2 seed and a bye and also allow the giants into the playoffs, and a packer loss would give the packers the 3 seed, no bye, but would also knock the giants out of the playoffs!!!! In that scenario played out leading up to the packers-Vikings game in week 17 even I wouldn't be 100% what to hope for! I suspect I would still want the bye because if the giants did make it in they would be the 6 seed and therefore even if they did win their first playoff game they would go to Atlanta in the division round, but then again that would mean we could end up facing the niners at lambeau and then, if we won, the giants at lambeau in the NFC championship game if they went on to beat the falcons (somewhat of a nightmare scenario for packer fans).

If it came down to beating the vikings and getting the bye or losing and knocking the giants out of the playoffs which would u guys root for? Winning/getting the bye? Or would u want the packers to rest starters and basically intentionally lose to the Vikings to knock out the giants?

I'd take the bye

Chuck, how long did it take you to figure out that scenario? Haha

Bye.

Don't fear the Giants. Relish the opportunity for retribution. Mans game.
