Justin Smith likely out for the 49ers. http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=8773551
Might be the most important player on that defense, hopefully him being out opens up some seams for Lynch and for Wilson when he's scrambling that normally wouldn't exist. Go Seahawks!!

I'm going to say it again. I don't want to face the Queens in round 1. The Giants are probably the only team I'd less want to see.

Rodgers with 150 yards, a passing td and a rushing td at the half. Brady with two picks. Peterson with 40 yards and 0 tds. JJ watt with no sacks. A good second half for Rodgers and continued non-exceptionalism from the latter three guys sets up Rodgers to take the MVP lead if Manning sh*ts the bed this afternoon against the browns (not likely)...

Would've preferred a passing td there.

I'm not gonna say that I'd be scared if we had to face Vikings in the playoffs, but I will admit that I would feel more comfortable playing against the cowboys, redskins, or the bears if it came down to playing one of them or the Vikings if we get the 3rd seed and have to play one of those four as the 6th seed.

There is no other explanation for what's going on in the packer game right now other than that Arod asked McCarthy if he could have another series to pass every play and pad his MVP stats. I'm cool with it lol...

No, actually my posts regarding Rodgers stat padding were made in the context of a larger discussion about the current state of the race for the NFL MVP, therefore correct thread... ;-)

I'm sure it is unlikely to occur like this but it would be interesting if it came down to NYG or Minny for the last WC spot and we were faced with the following dilemma next week: win, knock out the Vikings and play NYG in the first round; lose and face the Vikings again.

Ugh, that's an unappealing scenario I'd rather not face. Suppose I'd have to root for us exposing Ponder for the fraud that he is and dominancing the queens by double digits. It'd be fun to hold AP to 1 yd under the record just for the giggles.

Agreed, that would be crazy. Yet another reason to root for the Seahawks tonight, if the niners lose then there won't be a dilemma at all because a packers win next week will mean a bye AND that the giants will face off against the Niners in wildcard weekend therefore making it a certainty that one of the two toughest machups for the packers (niners or giants) will be knocked out in the first round...

Even better, if it plays out that way then it will be a first round rematch of the giants-niners at candlestick, a game the giants won 24-3 earlier in the year. If that result repeats itself then the giants will head to Atlanta where they just got smashed last week. That illustrates a viable scenario where the packers could avoid facing both the giants AND the niners in the playoffs altogether!

I don't know why you're so concerned about who wins MVP.
