Been some good finishes to some of these lower tier bowls, but I really don't start paying close attention until the Holiday Bowl, which is tonight. Baylor v UCLA

Duke and Cincinnati played some of the worst defense I've seen.

I'll be at the Meineke Bowl. And yes, Minny is going to get rolled. Hoping to see Gray stand out, I have growing love of him as a NFL WR, wrote about it for the Lions site.

Seth Doege is a guy the Packers could look at with a 7th round pick. Similar to Harrell, better zip on short throws.

Looking forward to reading your impressions after the game. I also think Gray could be a diamond in the rough at the WR position. He has great size/athleticism to go with some pretty good hands. Not sure about his route running though.

If he's legitimately 6'4", 245 pounds and running in the low 4.4s--and I expect all that to be true--you don't need him to run a lot of great routes. That's close to Vincent Jackson and he couldn't do anything but go straight down the field when he got drafted. He looked decent enough as a WR a couple years ago.

Insert Minnsota joke here. It's gotten way too easy. I'm beyond caring :P

Other than the loss (obviously), I couldn't have been happier with the Gophers last night. We were 2 TD underdogs and I was fully prepared for a blow out loss. Stuff like that pick to end the game is going to happen when you are rolling with a true freshman at QB. The most encouraging thing to see was the return of the smash mouth running game. We absolutely ran all over Tech's D. Reminded me of the Maroney/Barber days. There's no reason we shouldn't be a bowl team next year and win an extra conference game or two. Slowly but surely I think Kill will turn this thing around.

I know we've got a lot of young CBs on our roster, but I wouldn't mind TT taking Michael Carter later in the draft. He's the cousin of former Steeler CB Tyrone Carter. He has been a really late bloomer, but has been extremely impressive this year. He had two interceptions last night and was the player of the game.

They tried to be "smashmouth" over the past few years but couldn't run over the better Big 10 teams, right?

Well Brewster didn't exactly recruit offensive linemen very well. The few 4 star players on the team are freshman and sophomore offensive linemen from Minnesota. In addition to Kirkwood we are also bringing in some good RBs the next couple of years. We got Braylon Edwards younger bro coming in next year and then in 2014 there is 4-star RB in-state that has said he'll probably end up with the Gophers. The running game will only get better. I'm optimistic, but who knows maybe I'm a fool.

The Big 10 is going to embarrass itself today. If PSU and OSU were eligible, I think things might be a little more evenly matched.
