Packers @ 49ers, NFC Divisional Round Game Thread

Tonight our boys have the chance to avenge last year’s one and done, wildly disappointing playoff showing, the week 1 defeat, and, well, the scorning of a young Aaron Rodgers.

Image

When these teams last met, Jarrett Bush was the starting CB, Hayward was not much more than a preseason Kermit-Fap.png, Cedric Benson was getting into game shape, DuJuan Harris was selling vehicles, and David Akers was kicking 60yders. Time and time again, it has been said that the Vet qb’s eat up Caper’s scheme by being patient and attacking the Defense through the middle of the field. Smith did a masterful job of this in week 1 (notably abusing Nick Perry with Crabtree, holy mismatch!), but one wonders if Kaepernick has the savvy to do the same. While Gore looks to be running on half a tank, Harris has sprung new life into the offense, and by the reports of Dunne/McGinn, it sure sounds like Starks may be the the 1b/2a running back tonight.

Image

Some say Driver has unfairly used the media to paint GB into a corner (leaking that he’d be willing to take a paycut, leaking that he’d play special teams rather than just keeping both sentiments in-house), and it looks like it has worked again. #80 will be suiting up. Congrats on the career, and if you do see the field, please prove that you were worth dressing.

Image

Rejoice, Realgm faithful, for there likely will not be enough fans to get too much of a pronounced KKKUUUUUUHHHHHNNN chant going tonight.

Claymaker VS Justin Smith, Rodgers VS Kaepernick, … Akers VS Masonator.

Image

Get.

It.

On.

Steve Corkran ‏@CorkOnTheNFL
David Akers has looked much better than Mason Crosby in pregame warm-ups. Crosby just missed way right on back-to-back attempts.

Don't understand why House is inactive.

Almost certain he was inactive last week as well. If I'm not mistaken, he was Tramon soft during week 17. Given Tramon, Woody, Shields, Hayward, and Bush paired with McMillionaire, Jennings, Burnett, not much more room/use for more DB's. I hear you though..

ETA - With manningham out and the offense the niners run, not the best matchup for his skillset either.

Not really nervous since we're the underdog. Very excited though

I'm scared but I feel like I felt before the Falcons game two years ago. Very cautiously optimistic. Hopefully we see Godgers like we did that game.

Last year I was just scared we would choke.

I was scared more before the falcons game because I really, really hated that team and didn't want to lose. I don't feel that way about the niners

Since they won the Owl I've got this feeling like I'm not too nervous with these kind of games because I'm confident Aaron will at least win another one eventually. This is probably how people felt after Favre won it though so maybe I should feel nervous. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I had the same feeling this week that I had for the Falcons game too. I thought they could pull it off, but being on the road in the playoffs is tough.

You had to activate a worthless, washed up, old WR...because he dances and fat Wisconsin women love him.

Yeah that facebook page to get Driver activated was embarrassing. No reason to activate him other than personal feelings which shouldn't come into play at all in the playoffs or really any other time.

House was a healthy scratch so if there are injuries Bush may play.....that was the decision.
