Even if he doesn't take the next step this is going to be a good contract. If he gets better the deal turns excellent.

Solid deal. Raji, EDS, Finley, Jones left. Looks like none will be extended. That would make for an interesting offseason next year.

I'm assuming this is an add on to this year which actually makes it like 5 / 26 which I like even more, especially if they were able to move some of those dollars into this year

He missed him, Shield is only under contract this season.

I don't think that will happen. It goes against everything TT stands for as far as draft and develop goes.I'm guessing he's the first player extended about six games into the season if he continues to perform at the level he did last year.

I think Shields will get paid if he has another good year, but let's be honest, we can't sign all our guys that need new deals.

Solid deal, we are very light at safety.
Hope that Morgan can really take a step this year, safety is such an important position in this defensive scheme, have to make plays!!

This is technically Burnett's 'real' 3rd season should he stay healthy. The Super Bowl season was cut short for him. He's still only 24 years old too.

I think Shields is more expendable than Raji, simply because of the depth at corner. But I want them both back.

it depends on how well they play but if performance & health are equal signings will go as such
1 Raji - talented big guys who can pass rush are premium
2 EDS - will be good enough & cheap enough
BORDER
3 Shields - if he remains starter - depending on pay demand and how well House & Williams plays
GONE
4. Finley - will want big $ - maybe if enough cap space. Look for Pack to draft TE 1st or 2nd
5. Jones - doesn't get respect but with a breakout year he'll want to be paid. IF Cobb & Jordy play top - Jones will be hard to pay, Look for Pack to draft WR 1st or 2nd
