Browns Lead-Up (Nick Perry w/Broken foot)
Obviously, a lot of injury news this week. Hopefully Hayward is back, until I hear otherwise I'm expecting both Jones and Cobb to be out.
At home, we should beat this Browns team regardless. I know they are 3-3, but they have absolutely zero running game and we should have the corner depth to cover Gordon. Weeden is nothing special at all.
Heading into the game, disregarding tonight's game:
GB Offense: 6th in PPG (27.4), 2nd in YPG (450.2)
GB Defense: 16th in PPG (22.8), 18th in YPG (371.8)
Cleveland Offense: 24th in PPG (19.7), 24th in YPG (330.0)
Cleveland Defense: 11th in PPG (20.8), 7th in YPG (312.5)

Re: Browns Lead-Up
We should be a significantly better team than Cleveland even with Matthews, Hayward, Cobb and Jones out.
Isn't Haden, the corner, an absolute stud for them? That could prove problematic if both Cobb and Jones are out... he should be able to do a good job on Nelson. People have continuously talked about how good Finley is despite his lack of numbers... this is his time to shine. With our other weapons down we NEED him to step up and become a consistent threat.

Should be another low-scoring game. I hope they improve interception stat with some help from Weeden.

That is absolutely nuts. That said, unless Arod goes down I'm not even gonna flinch and neither will anybody on the team. Only need like one more starter to have a season ender and we will exceed our 2010 injury levels...

I didn't believe the news on Perry. Thought it was a joke.
But, here it is. Uggh.

You can add another broken bone to the list of injuries that have led to sidelined Green Bay Packers this season.
As initially reported by WDUZ Radio in Green Bay:
Per our Chris Havel, through a source, LB Nick Perry is out with a broken foot, but will return this year. #Packers
— The Fan 1075 (@WDUZ) October 14, 2013
TODAY'S TMJ4's Lance Allan followed up with this:
Can confirm what Chris Havel first reported. @packers Nick Perry broke his foot. Still waiting to hear how long he will be out #Packers
— Lance Allan (@lanceallan) October 14, 2013
Perry limped off the field of the Packers' 19-17 win at Baltimore on Sunday.
Check back for more from Packers coach Mike McCarthy later on Monday.

Re: Browns Lead-Up (Nick Perry w/Broken foot)
Matthews has to club his hand already. Perry can't club his foot. You need to be born with that, and even if he was it wouldn't be very helpful.

Re: Browns Lead-Up (Nick Perry w/Broken foot)
So, currently injured/released/retired players that likely would be starting for us this year had health been 100% (not factoring in cap issues):
Nick Collins
Desmond Bishop (his replacement also out)
Bryan Bulaga
Derek Sherrod
Casey Hayward
Clay Matthews
Nick Perry
James Jones
Randall Cobb
Almost half of the starting lineup. That doesn't include Worthy, Starks, and Tretter (Tretter could easily be our starter at C).

The funny thing is some posters like rilamann and Godgers thought this was a fringe playoff team to begin with. I'd be interested if they think we are going to make the playoffs now.
After all, how is a 'rebuilding team' without that much veteran talent going to make it into the playoffs after half of their roster goes down?

Re: Browns Lead-Up (Nick Perry w/Broken foot)
broke his foot??!
boy, the move to make neal an olb might have saved our season, with our 2 opening day starters out.
chiefs have 2 of our backups from last year, Moses and Zombo. who else is out there? does brad jones go back to olb for some plays?

Re: Browns Lead-Up (Nick Perry w/Broken foot)
This is just ludicrous. I am honestly starting to think that we need to draft players just based on durability.
That being said, even minus Clay, Perry, Hayward, Cobb, and Jones, we are still a much better football team than Cleveland. They were playing well with Brian Hoyer because he wasn't making the terrible mistakes that Weeden does. Now they have Weeden back there, and virtually no running attack, so I'm thinking this is going to be a game where the defense can feast off of turnovers. I can see a blowout being possible, but with all the injuries, it's most likely another ugly win. I'll predict a 24-10 victory with Weeden throwing a couple ugly interceptions.
