Lions PG- Location: Embarrassment City

Based on the 3 playcalls in our first 4th quarter series I feel like McCarthy may have given up on this team even though there was over 13 minutes left in the game. That was pretty blatant imo. Oh and btw, we should have lost by 50...

Can't remember a worse performance.

Seàson is over. Hope we lose out. Capers gone, good draft, and one motherfing season without the team being decimated by injuries. Team should be embarrassed about the effort today though, players and coaches.

This is going to sound petty, but this all started with Aaron getting hurt on a third and short pass play in the red zone. We finally had a running game with Lacy, and he continued to throw it. McCarthy never changes. Always throwing on third and short, never running screenplays, eliminating the quick slant, etc.

And this defense is cooked. Capers needs to go.

Most embarrassing game I've ever watched.

What I don't understand is the coaches sticking with the status quo. If we're sucking that hard and performing that effectively, start trying different personnel!! Don't put Newhouse in at G when EDS goes out, give Sherrod a shot. Bench one of the safeties and put in Richardson. Lacy not doing crap? Give Starks a shot. I guess we did do some of that eventually but it seems like MM is really tentative about benching guys that aren't performing at times...

Glad I turned it off when I did. Really hope we lose out. Though between the Bucks and Packers there is too much losing and hopeful tanking in my life right now.

My biggest problem with MM. He is a stubborn bast*rd. If his vision for a game doesn't materialize he just keeps plowing ahead with his original game plan. Terrible with adjustments, on a micro or macro level...

I been saying it for almost a year but this team right now needs a lot more (on defense mostly) than Aaron Rodgers if they want to do anything serious.

If you had any doubts about that I don't see how anyone could now.

This team even with Rodgers healthy and on the field is nothing more than good regular season team due to the fact Aaron Rodgers is the best player in the world at the most important position in football.

But with that said I never thought that even when Rodgers went down it would get quite this bad.

We wouldn't beat Jacksonville with this team without Rodgers.

A silver lining is that none of our free agents are going to be demanding big money if we decide to bring them back.

Yeah the season is pretty much over. The bears have to lose at least 1 of 4 before the final game and the lions have to lose 2 out of 4 to give us a chance even if we win out. Yeah it's the lions, but it's looking bleak as hell...

I am not selling yet. Rodgers is coming back next week. We'll still only be 1 1/2 game back and with a chance to tie the season series against Chicago. We've got a very favorable schedule. As long as they're coached by Jim Schwartz and quarterbacked by Matthew Stafford, this Lions team can't be trusted.

I'm not giving up yet.

I don't think that 9-6-1 gets it done to make the playoffs. Right now you are looking at the Panthers, 49ers, Cardinals, Eagles/Cowboys, and Bears that we have to catch up to. I think our only chance to make the playoffs would be the Lions and the Bears crapping the bed. Even then the Lions are now 4-1 in division and 6-3 in conference. I think this season is cooked.

ETA: I think we would be better off just calling Rodgers off for the rest of the season so he doesn't absolutely decimate our draft status.

The Lions finish with Philly, Baltimore, NYG and Minny. There's still a chance but the window is tiny and if the Lions win against the eagles next week it's thats the fat lady singing at the top of her lungs right there imo...

The season isn't over but its not looking good.

Somebody's head should roll because of this game

Its unacceptable that this team tanks so hard without Rodgers. Maybe I can get the offense struggling but Rodgers doesn't play defense, there is no excuses for how they play.

We have to finish ahead of the Lions though, given that division record will be the tiebreaker. So we need to make up two games on them with 4 to play. It's over.

The Lions suck and could lose out for all we know, they lost to Tampa last week. They are not a good team.

Reading this actually made me bring my foot back onto the ledge. He comes back, the defense actually starts trying again and who knows. I guess. Even if he comes back and they win out they need a lot of help.

The lions should lose at Philly and they have an even chance to lose one of their last 3 against the ravens giants and vikes. With the way the defense has been playing I'm much more confident in the lions doing their part then I am in the Packers winning out even with Rodgers...
