It's our worst matchup in the NFC IMO, but don't really care at this point. Bring them on.

they've beat us 3 straight. we're due for a W against them. i have a good feeling about this, i think we're gonna win.
i think Carolina isn't great either, if we get past SF, i think we have a good chance of NFC championship

We'd go to Seattle after hosting SF if things went as planned seeding wise.

Sweet Jesus. No words. Been looking forward to this exact game (niners at home in the playoffs) since last season; but in the NFC title game, not in the first round. On the bright side, I have relatively low expectations going into this one and, similarly to the Bears this week, even if we get knocked out the next round winning this game will make this a truly successful season. The Bears win made this a satisfying season, but it can't be considered successful IMO until we exorcise our numerous Niner-related demons. Also, I don't hate a coach in all of sports more than I hate Jim "small jimmy" Harbaugh...

I'm not sure if there is a team in the league I hate losing to more than San Fran. Maybe Seattle.

Ideal playoff scenario for us to get to the SB...
Pack beat 9ers, Saints beat NFCE Champ.
Pack beat Panthers, Saints beat Seahawks.
Pack beat Saints at Lambeau to go to the Super Bowl.

Bring on the Niners, the Pack is due for a win against them! They probably come in over confident.

yep. exactly. i think there is more than a remote chance this happens.

I think Saints over Seahawks in Seattle is the least likely part. The Saints got rolled the last time they made that trip.

I'd rather play San Francisco at home than Carolina. At least it's the devil we know.
We're due for a win against them. We should have beaten them in San Francisco in Week 1 and, despite how great Kaepernick looked in the playoff game last year, we were pretty competitive until the second half.
I think we can take them.

At least we won't have to worry about Walden having a massive brain fart on a read option play this time around.

Offensively we won't be able to run against them and everything will ride on rodgers arm and the protection.
Defensively we're screwed vs gore, but we match up decently against their WR's. Shields can handle crabtree's speed and Boldin has definitely slowed down since week one and tramon has stepped up. I think Davis will rip apart any Safety or LB that he play against.
I think the game will rest on how Collin plays quite frankly, also has he every played in these temps? 10 degree football game with this kind of pressure is its own beast.

SF has been a bad matchup for us.
On the other hand, two of the last three games were season openers, and the third was the playoff game with them coming off their bye. Lots of unscouted looks.
Interesting thing is that this year, with our injuries to Rodgers and Cobb, we might be the one who have put out less on tape, at least down the stretch. Besides today's game, teams would have to go back to the first quarter of the season for Cobb tape and pre-Week 7 for Rodgers' tape. That was a long time ago.
I haven't seen SF play much the last couple of months. How do they look? Are they doing the read-option stuff? Is their running game still good? Crabtree?

SF has pretty damn good D, but looking over their schedule.
Teams that have put up 20 or more points vs SF
GB
SEA
IND
ARZ(twice)
NO
ATL
We also put up 28 vs them the first time around this year. Like I said in my prior post, this will come down to Collin and the packers D.

Anyone know if SF walked out of ARZ with any injuries?

I wish it would have been the Saints. We probably would have beaten them.
If we lose to the 9ers again we have to lobby Goodell to switch conferences. Can't beat either them or the Giants, so maybe we can avoid them and let someone else we match-up better w/ knock them off.

Boldin destroyed Shields and McMillan in the first game. That will not happen again. I hope Jones has rested enough cause he'll be needed to put some effort against Davis along with Burnett and Hawk. Their passing game doesn't really scare me but they'll be able to run anywhere so that'll help their passing game. The only hope is for TOs and to take an early lead so they need to pass it.
SF hasn't played a high octane offense since they lost in NOLA. They might be caught off guard. They have played some pretty bad offenses this year, but the Pack have played some bad defenses. Let's see if the Pack can put up 30 on them.
