Hmmmm...

Would have preferred Allen, but I'll take it.

Love it! Hopefully it's not a huge deal. Next step draft Hageman. Front 3 of Peppers - Raji - Hageman!!!

Only 7.5m guaranteed? That seems damn reasonable.

As I said, really like Peppers. Money seems high to me though. Assuming he will be at DE?

All the guaranteed money is in year 1 so can cut bait after 1 year with no worries if it doesn't work out.

Matthews
Perry
Neal
Daniels
Peppers
Jones

Like the pass rush talent quite a bit. Middle of d (ILB/S) still needs work.

I think there's no question he plays DE. Would make zero sense to put him at OLB.

Obviously S and ILB will be handled through the draft, but taking a huge risk with that.

The $30 mil total was the max amount that his agent released to the media.

Front PFT:

“Maximum” means there are escalators and/or incentives and/or per-game roster bonuses that require Peppers to achieve certain goals in order to get the money. Without knowing the goals, it’s impossible to know whether he’ll come close to the $10 million annual average.

Excellent signing. Definitely preferred him to Jared Allen.

I thought the $ was high as well but everyone seems to think it's great value on the web.

Not sure he is an every down player, probably takes a little pressure off Jones, but the more I think about it Capers did say he want longer, leaner DE's and at 6'6" and 290, that size fits.

I agree with that, but it shouldn't be a huge problem since we have a decent stable of young DE's already.

All of Peppers 7 sacks last year were in the first half of games. Bears played him 90% of snaps. I think closer to 60% makes sense.
