I some him say this recently on twitter. I can see what he's talking about here, this draft is so deep with receivers that guys who will go mid 1st rounds picks are top 10 picks most years. If either cooks or odell is available at 21 I can't believe a more talented player is on the board. they both look the part of high impact receivers in the league. Anyone endorse this logic of going bpa/reciever in the first potentially? Not too mention both these guys beast on special teams and signing both cobb and nelson will most likely be a 20 mil investment a year..

If we were to draft a receiver in the 1st, I can't imagine we'd re-sign both Jordy and Cobb.

From everything I have read about Beckham and Cooks are both excellent return guys. In addition they both sound like they can be impact players and in most normal drafts it seems like they could be in the top 2 WRs to go. Watkins and Evans are most likely going to put a stop to that this year.

If Thompson really thinks that these guys are BPA, then I'd have no problem with them at 21. You get to add dynamic players in the return game, protect yourself if you cannot resign one of the three WRs going to free agency this year, add yet another weapon for Rodgers and potentially even add an element which we don't have... which is a super fast deep threat kind of guy.

All the mocks that I have been seeing have all of the guys on the defensive end of the ball that I'd really want going before we pick now. So odds are I am going to end up wanting to trade back or snatch up an offensive player that falls to us.

If negotiations with cobb and nelson aren't going well then its believable. Otherwise expect TT to make several draft day trades including down in 1st.

HaHa is being mocked top 13 now pretty much every time, Pryor is possible but unlikely to still be there and it's looking like HaHa is a total pipe dream now. I think it's a matter of how disappointed you'd feel if we passed on Jimmie Ward or Shazier for a WR?

There is no way TT leaves this draft with less players than picks.

Even if he trades up, he winds up trading down later to recoup picks.

after some thot there's no way TT will draft a WR #!.
TT will trade down b4 he takes a WR at #1.

cooks & beckham are midgets
lee is injury prone
robinson is slow

MAYBE Bryant in 2nd but I doubt it
strengthen other position and
I'd go Janis in 4th or 5th

Depends on what WR IMO. I'm intrigued with Cooks and Beckham Jr. because I love speed and we can never have enough, but, we need speed more on defense and that's why Shazier or Ward I'm good with if HaHa, Pryor and Mosely are gone and it's between those 2 or a WR. I wouldn't be "disappointed" but I wouldn't necessarily agree with it. Benjamin doesn't do much for me because I think he would be redundant to Boykins. I'd rather take a big red zone target TE later than a WR version in the 1st. That would disappoint me.

Benjamin is 6'5" 240lbs, Boykin is 6'2" 217. Not that I want to pick Benjamin, but not sure how he would be redundant when they aren't even close to the same type of player.

Benjamin is a really interesting prospect. I think he's talented enough to be the bet player who comes out of this draft... but at the same time he's an obvious boom/bust prospect who I think is much more likely to bust than boom. From everything I have read about him he is incredible raw, has drop problems and his route running is pretty bad.

It would be interesting to see what he could do here with a good head coach, a quality group of veteran receivers and a great QB to help his development.

That being said I wouldn't take him at 21. If he was really our target, I think I'd move back and try to land in later in round one or early in round two.

I think its safe to assume mosely and ha ha are gone at 21. So i'm guessing we go DL, if you could get haggeman, nix, or jernigan it might be the best play and still helps a need.

To me, the whole "BPA" argument also has to take into consideration the overall depth of that particular position in a given draft. There's maybe 20 guys at WR in this draft that could step in and play right away next year, with maybe 10 of those guys having incredible upside potential. So right there, I struggle with how WR could be considered the BPA, as there's just so many guys with great upside.

Now at the same time, if TT things that:

Brandin Cooks is Desean Jackson, without the baggage, or
Mike Evans can be Calvin Johnson LITE, or
Odell Becham is a faster, young Greg Jennings

Then go ahead and make the pick. I just think he'll find more value in trading down, or drafting another position with less depth.

Somehow, someway, Boykin will get that damn 's' off of his name from the casual fans.

Repeated reports coming out from his private workouts and his public workout are his hips look tight. He's actually a player whose stock has gone down. FWIW.

So ur gonna tell me Benjamin is like Calvin Johnson then? Just because u stand 3" taller than someone means u can't play the same position similar?
