I feel like that went pretty well other than the resounding ass-kicking.

Couple thoughts, ok we're 5-3 heading into are bye (not bad). We have a rather easy schedule the rest of the way considering the real tough teams we get, we get at home and I like our advantage in the church of lambeau. Bad news is the lions are so fkn lucky but I say if it comes down to us and them at ambeua in frigid weather I'll take it. I say we finish 12-4.

Not sure where that loss comes from but we prob lose again some where. Pats and eagles even at home will be rough and the bills on the road could also be scary. Hell who knows. All in all I say we're a playoff team and this team in the dance can do damage and even win it all imo.

Pack can get hot but they can also be dismantled. Its hard to take us seriously with such terrible run D and the worst ILBs in the league. To make the problem worse is TT and coaches deny the problem and insist on love Hawk. Least they seem to have woke up about Jones.

I originally predicted 13-3 and once amended that to 11-5 – I’ll stick with that range.

At this point I’d open any game - that opponent has decent or better TE - with 3-4-1-4 version of nickel; I’d start Lattimore as MLB mostly playing the run w/ occasional blitz. And start Richardson to cover TE or RB as our ILBs can’t cover worth a damn. Our ILBs also suck vs run anyway so we are not at any greater disadvantage to play Sean.

Offense couldn't score TD's, defense was shredded, refs sucked, McCarthy tried being too cute early... Ugly loss... Two weeks to heal (and place a call to Johnny Jolly).

Not a fan of the many gimmick plays MM regularly runs.

When he brought in Peppers on the goal line it seemed to me to be a slap in the face to the Saints. Sort of a "yeah, we are so good, we'll be able to have our D-lineman score a TD on you guys"

We are what we thought we were. A good team that relies on perfection from A-Rod.

Peppers as a blocker? Sounds good. Peppers on a jump ball pass? Not a fan but I can understand the thinking. Peppers on a slant? WTF, we have a bunch of guys who would have caught that pass.

I think we'd have been fine had Rodgers not gotten hurt. Actually, that's a good way to look at the rest of the season, assuming the rest of the team gets healthy

We ran into a buzz saw this week, simple as that. I would usually just chalk this up as us just not playing up to our potential (turnovers, penalties, missed opportunities in the red zone), but wow, this run D is still as bad as I feared.

I'm less worried about our offense and secondary (again, we just missed scoring chances in the red zone and Brees was flawless), but you can't let Mark Ingram run for 160+ yards on you.......ever.

I don't care if it was the Saints in the Superdome, that was by far our most pathetic defensive effort to date. All those good vibes from the Carolina game seem irrelevant if we're going to come out and crap the bed every time we face an elite or even above average offense.

Good news is that the bye week comes at a perfect time for us this year. Get healthy and have a nice little bounce back game against Chicago at Lambeau. I still expect us to win the division. **** Detroit and their opponents choking away games BS, they should be 4-4 right now

I didn't care for that Peppers play either. I can imagine what must have been going through the minds of our professional pass catchers when that one bounced out. I don't mind the onside kicks though.

Peppers on a fade would've been perfect. I thought that's what they were going to do when he went out wide. When he cut inside, I immediately was thinking that McCarthy was doped up. That didn't make any sense whatsoever.

The onside kick was fine too. If we recover that, we steal a possession from the Saints and probably get at least 3 points out of it. We've seen it work enough over the last few years too that I don't think it was a bad move by any stretch of the imagination.

As long as Rodgers is fine, the loss last night wasn't a huge deal. We should be able to go at least 6-2 in the second half of the season. Arizona's schedule and the NFC East teams have tougher schedules down the stretch. Just rest up this week and beat the Bears in 13 days.

So you'd go with a 12 man unit? Strong.

i think we'd still be one of the worst defenses in the NFL even with a 3-4-1-4 12 man unit.

It's really odd to kick the Peppers call or say it should have been a fade. The play worked perfectly, he's athletic enough to get his huge body in front of a DB, he was an easy throw and catch that he just dropped. I'd bet 8 of 10 times he makes that catch. I don't have a problem with it. I'd say the odds are pretty high that he catches it or there's a pass interference from the tiny DB not being able to see anything past Peppers.

I agree that I don't mind the play for Peppers. I realize that you should just run it for Jordy, but Peppers is athletic and should be able to catch the football. It was one play and it was executed perfectly until the wide-open drop.

Lesson learned I guess. It's going to be a "1 catch sample" but I would imagine he has reasonable enough hands to catch a wide-open pass. But since it didn't work, it's going to be thought of as extremely dumb because he plays defensive line.

I think we'll go 5-3 for the next 8 and be 10-6.

Maybe 9-7.

We'll lose at Lambeau to the Patriots or Eagles or both.

We'll also lose at Buffalo.... since GB has never won there.

Hyde was absolutely terrible yesterday. House and Tramon weren't great but they had no chance when Hyde was getting beat deep as the deep safety. HaHa missed 3 tackles along with House.

I understand the criticisms of the Peppers play and largely agree with them. But, admittedly, if Peppers caught that pass, that might've been my favorite play of all time.

Yeah, we missed Burnett last night.

Secondary is much more on the same page with him in there.

So disappointing... this team received a refreshing wake-up call with the 1-2 start... it instilled a much greater sense of urgency this team has lacked for some years. The "we just need to get everyone healthy to the Wild Card and we'll win it all again" mentality was I thought gone.

Now we get f###ing around with Peppers, no effort to see if Lang can continue, etc. etc.

An easy schedule will prop up this team, but it's hard to see how anyone can realistically think our front seven is good enough to take care of business in December/January and even limit the run much. Eagles and Patriots games will be huge tests, with those two and the Lions game probably telling the story if we're an actual contender or pretender.
