Should be a comfortable win again but you never know. Go Bucky!

Defense wasn't the best on the first drive though Purdue benefitted from a wonky pass. Held them to three at least. Now go to work on their bad defense.

Purdue with the short kickoff, staying away from Doe. #FearTheDoe

That was obvious 4-down territory. Should have ran to make 4th more manageable. But GA is an idiot.

Coming out throwing today I see, very interesting.

Play-by-play guy is super annoying. Really playing up the Purdue is an underdog thing like this is David vs. Goliath.

Why do we insist on Tanner McEvoy?

Really disappointed by Gordon on that drive. He let a defender catch him to prevent a td when he had the angle and then took the wrong hole on that key 3rd and short. We haven't been able to run well enough when teams know we're going to do it this season. That's not Wisconsin football.
The most annoying part about the McEvoy usage occasionally at QB means he's being prevented from being another option for Stave. I'm dumbfounded as to why he can't do both. It's not like he's gassed from running a few times on a couple spread out series' per game.

Did that guy just throw his water bottle at Gordon? Classy Purdue fans, real classy.

A passing offense! I know it's Purdue but it's nice to see us have the ability to throw against defenses overplaying the run. We should be able to do that more often.

It would help us to do it more often on early downs when they are actually over-playing the run. Prior to this game, Ludwig has been doing it much more often on late downs when we proved we couldn't run, and that's when Stave struggles disproportionately. But he's got an excellent play action fake, footwork when he can see the line ahead of him, and throws a decent deep ball. You should throw first when you have minimal to moderate confidence in the passing game, to set up the run game. But Ludwig was acting like he had virtually no confidence, running against 9 man boxes. It was too conservative-minded.

What is this passing game and where did it come from?

Great throw to end a great drive. That was the drive of the season, with a ton of passes, and Stave not taking a billion years to attempt every one. We should take that approach more often, as opposed to acting like we're confused, or running the clock against our seemingly superior opponent.

Who is this and what did he do with the real Stave?

He's not this good, but this is closer to the real Stave. We created some confidence in him by trusting him to throw on earlier downs where the openings were bigger. Now he's fitting balls into smaller ones.

I was on the bandwagon of "glad to try a mobile QB" not knowing just how bad McEvoy was going to be at that. However, I was also always in the camp of Stave being much better than people giving him credit for.
Now that we're here, this team is competitive with a QB that can throw against 9 in the box. You could see it from the first drive Stave had against Northwestern.

It's too bad that GA felt so compelled to use a mobile QB that he forced McEvoy in there. If went with Stave from the start we could very well be unbeaten. At the very least we win that Northwestern game.

The receivers can't get open. Remember that narrative during the LSU game when they completely ignored how awful McEvoy was?

Jesus, Gordons head nearly bounced off the field there.
