So Peterson is suspended for the rest of the year. Kind of looks like the NFL is just making up whatever rules they want as they go.

Also - Packers -10 this weekend vs. MIN = FREE $$$

He was still getting paid all these weeks so it makes sense he gets some unpaid time off.

While he appeals he is still getting paid.

I would think that the NFL is using him as an example here, he wins his appeal or there is a compromise, and he keeps the majority of his pay for the entire season. Everybody wins except the Vikings really.

This all seems wacky to me. I’m not really going to cry for someone convicted of beating their child, but if money is the issue can’t they just fine him for the equivalent time missed? I get that they may want to make an example, but the way they are going about it is a mess. It seems like the NFL never considered his case would be wrapped up by now. When you are getting bad PR for punishing a child abuser you may be doing something wrong.

The league really trying to help out the Colts. Blount and Tate cut.

The RGIII soap opera here in DC is hilariously sad.

Kid needs to shut up and play better. Jay Gruden called him out, I don't think I've seen a coach bash a QB's mechanics, footwork, awareness like that in a presser.

Thought that was a terrible deal for Washington the second it happened. I seem to remember his "good" rookie year came from a bunch of screens and short passes with the receivers getting a ton of YAC but I could be wrong on that.

That trade is hilarious all over the place.

RG3 has been a huge bomb - although I feel like WAS has not done a good job of handling him.

STL doesn't have a QB, and can't figure out how to draft or sign offensive lineman.

He hit quite a few deep passes off play action that year.

He has no confidence and his mechanics suck.

That gimmick offense was okay for a rookie season. Hell, they had a 14-0 lead on the Seahawks at home in the 2012 playoffs.

Then it all went south. Shannahan mishandled him but his lack of prep with Gruden is also evident. He missed 3-4 TDs against a horrible Bucs defense. Overthrowing Desean Jackson is hard and he's done it plenty.

Sounds like the Bills/Jets game will be on Monday in Detroit.

This is kinda random - but cool article about former Rams center Jason Brown, who quit the NFL to be a farmer.

That's awesome. Charles Woodson is the man.

I has a sad.

Miss Chuck. Still wish we would've restructured and kept him. Can still play and you can't put a price on his leadership. Should've retired a Packer.

I don't know if he's interested in it, but he always seemed to me like a guy who could be a head coach one day if he ventured into coaching. In my fantasy scenario, he becomes an assistant with us and takes over DC when capers retires.

That's assuming that we haven't already hired Dave Aranda to coach the defense.

He'll have Michigan back to being a national power house by then.

He'd coach Michigan before anything else

Also, did you guys see Sio Moore celebrating? Chuck and J. Tuck were going to fight him if they lost.

The only problem was that while the Raiders were celebrating, the Chiefs were hustling back to the line of scrimmage and on the verge of snapping the ball -- and getting a free play -- when Oakland defensive end Justin Tuck wisely called a timeout.

"I couldn't believe it," Woodson said. "That was the first time I had ever seen somebody celebrate for a whole 40-second clock. That was ridiculous, and they know it. I told Sio he's lucky we got the win because we really probably would've had to fight, and I would've seen exactly what kind of fighter he is."

All of it became a moot point after Kansas City turned the ball over on downs and the Raiders held on to win, ending their 16-game losing streak. Had it worked out differently, Woodson said, there would have been big issues inside the Raiders' locker room.

Woodson might have been making the comment in jest, though he clearly was irked.

For his part, Moore was apologetic after the game.

"I was so caught up in the moment, man," Moore said. "That was an error I've got to make sure I clean up."
