NFC Championship Post-Game

There were many single plays that have been mentioned that lead to the loss, but some things we have been harping on over and over again on this forum reared their head today:
1) Slocum's special teams. The fake FG started the momentum shift and was unexcusable. The muffed inside sealed it. People may call it a "scapegoat" firing, but he needs to go.
2) This team has had horrible red zone execution at times. We left way too many points on the board in the first quarter.
3) Capers inexplicably rushing 3 on the 3rd and long that lead to the fake FG TD. Just play your normal D. It had shut them out up to that point.
We can touch on McCarthy taking his foot off the gas yet again, but I think it was more of being afraid to make a mistake against this defense.

I can't blame it on coaching. Slocum did strip a ball out there but I agree he did embody AJ Hawk and also drop an onside kick.
A few things I'll agree with like being conservative on 3rd and really long. Morgan Burnett: just jog to the endzone, dude. 6 minutes to go.

Packers put on a clinic on how to play not to lose in the 2nd half.

MM is a loser. Starts with the head coach. MM is Mr. Play it safe afraid to fly. MM doesn't play to win, he plays to hopefully not to lose it.

Other than not throwing on 3rd and 14 I'm curious where they didn't play to win.
Yeah, the FGs early. I would've gone for it but against Seattle I can see taking points.

Burnett intentionally going down on that INT was this team's mentality in the 2nd half in a nutshell.

The game was lost on 4 turnovers forced resulting in 6 points from our offense. Constantly running right into a giant pile of bodies at the goal line and somehow thinking you're going to get into the end zone.
The dumb INT by Rodgers.
The awful 3rd down 3 man rush to give the Seahawks a free 1st down.
So **** pissed.

Rodgers looks shell shocked in that presser.

You could write a book on the number of plays they botched.

Burnett had a decent chance at scoring. Maybe Peppers was a plant for the Bears this whole time. Him going down is the play for me. The rest of the plays were guys crapping their pants with the Super Bowl on the line.

A lot of negative things will be said in this thread and it's deserving. However Bright side.
Haha, What a game by him he came out and owned the secondary. I know a lot of people will look to the 2 point play, but that was a tear drop prayer by Wilson and if you look at it Haha never had a chance at that ball.
Mason Crosby, what more can you say about him this game? Kicked in terrible weather and had no issues.
Rodgers didn't play his best game, but he gritted out a calf and an ankle issue late in the game.
Brad Jones anyone?
I think the biggest issue going into the off season is not only how this team failed in the end, but the inability of the offense to score in the red zone not only in the SEA game but the last 5 to 6 games. You can go back and fourth on if we should of went for it twice at the one, but in the end with a guy like Rodgers and a back like Eddy why are we in that position continually?

Packers took the foot of the pedal early in the second half. The TD before the onside the Packers played scared. MM decided to let them get chunks of yards with the trade off of taking time of the clock and just having to get the onside. MM give the Seahawks every chance in the world to come back.

I think the wind effected that ball on the two point conversion. It kind of blew it at a weird angle where Ha Ha never had a chance on it. Just one of the weird things that went against us at the end.

On 3rd and goal inside the 5, has McCarthy ever spread out the D and ran? It's always spread them out and throw, or pack it in and run.

I think this loss either haunts the Packers for the reminder of the MM/Rodgers era or they learn from it and win like the next two Super Bowls...IMO.
The franchise is going to go one way or the other after a loss like this.

You literally can't blame it on anything. Just one of those crazy strings of once-in-a-lifetime events! Happens!

I could be wrong but I think it might have actually been 6pts on 5 turnovers.

yeah. only problem i have with MM is the horrible red zone play calling. i have no problem with running the ball in teh 4th like we did. it seems to be a pattern for this team that when something goes wrong and the momentum shifts we just collapse. we don't seem to regroup adn rebound well in tough situations, we just fold

Fire MM and bring in a coach that plays to win the full 60 mins. Sick of this conservative bs.
