NFL OT Rules are a bit Wonky

I'm not trying to be sour grapes, but I'm just thinking in general about OT rules in the NFL. I think they are the most unique in sports, and kinda don't make any sense.
If you score of FG, the other team gets a shot on offense....If you score a TD, the other team does not get a shot on offense...Huh?
So in Soccer in OT you play an extra period 30 minutes, and if no winner 5 penalty kicks for each team.
NBA you play 5 minute periods indefinitely. Both teams get plenty of chances.
Baseball you go to extra innings, and both teams get their full chance during each inning and it goes on indefinitely until someone wins an inning.
Some Hockey leagues have extra period and a shootout, but I think NHL is straight up sudden death in OT for post season(I don't follow).
Hockey though I think the puck is a face-off so neither team gets on offense first.
It's tough to compare sports, but just looking in general, it seems every team has a shot at playing offense and defense. It seems like NFL football is the only team sport where you may not get a chance to play offense.
I'm sure the entire NFL football watching planet would have loved to see Aaron Rodgers get another shot at a tying football drive and then possibly a winning drive. They just put up a tying FG drive with a minute to play, I'd love to have seen the MVP take the game back in OT. You could see it on his face, I've never seen Rodgers look like that. You know he was dying inside to get one shot at taking the game back.
I'm just saying wouldn't it have been great football and drama to see Rodgers try to tie things up? Get a chance in OT to make it happen. But because of weird NFL rules, if you lose the coin toss and give up the wrong type of points 6 vs 3, then your offense doesn't get a chance.
It's just kinda weird when comparing to other sports. They pretty much let both team's offense have a turn. I can't even compare it to anything else...If your nba team gets a 3 instead of 2, you go home, no more OT. That's not a good comparison, but it's weird.
