I know a few here follow AFL (Australian Rules Football) or at least have seen it before, so thought you would like to know the first ever US born player Jason Holmes will debut for the St. Kilda Saints on Saturday night against the Geelong Cats in Melbourne.

Tall, athletic ruckman who has been decent at VFL (reserves) level. The Saints are out of the finals race so giving him a go for some good form in the lower league. Will be interesting to see how he goes and hopefully build a bit more interest in the game in America. A few other Americans developing on other teams also, mostly former basketballers picked up for their height and athleticism.
I'll try post some highlights of his game on the weekend.
P.S. if you are adopting a team it doesn't have to be St. Kilda, make it the Western Bulldogs who are basically the Bucks of the AFL. Young, exciting team with a low supporter base and income but huge potential.
