@TomSilverstein: #Packers have informed OL Matt Rotheram that he has been released. A definite candidate for the practice squad. Likely to be signed.

Yes. Giants also cut Hynoski. Tough to be a FB.

Was told #Packers planning to keep rookie TE Kennard Backman, barring a last-minute change. Not sure what that means for Perillo, Henry.

Just found this

Who has to go through waivers?

Remember when I mentioned "four accrued seasons" above? That's important. Any player with at least four accrued seasons is considered a "vested veteran" and is not subjected to the waiver process. Vested veterans become a free agent immediately upon their release and can sign with any team of their choosing. The NFL defines an accrued season as one in which a player appeared on the active 53-man roster for at least six games. Players with fewer than four accrued seasons must pass through the 24-hour waiver period, after which they too become a free agent.

Can only imagine that since they're top heavy at WR they want to use the 4-6 slots on young guys showing promise. Not unlike what the Packers were looking to do pre Jordy injury

It's looking like the packers are keeping 6. Abby can't stay on the field and white is just a guy. Also Montgomery is your primary returner(risk of Injury) and a rookie. I see no reason why they shouldn't sign Jones.

I was looking forward to seeing what White and Janis could do. I'm leaning against signing Jones
