Top 5 greatest endings to a Packers game
For regular season and NON FG endings. There's plenty of awesome last second drives with walk off FGs but what about the dramatic ending like we just had.
My top 5 but not sure the order:
#1 Rodgers to Rodgers hail mary 2015
#2 majik to Sharpe '89 bears asterisk game.
#3 Freeman miracle catch in OT.
#4 Favre dive vs atl farewell to county stadium.
#5 Favre to Jennings bomb in OT in Denver '07.
I spent my childhood being tormented by ditka and the bears so '89 was extremely special to me. That's gotta be near the top for me.
I was at County stadium in 93? When Favre dove into the end zone and was a bit emotional as previously all my packers games I experienced at County stadium. Plus we we up and coming team for the first time in my life so that was special too the game actually meant something to get into the playoffs.
The Freeman miracle catch was incredible. Dramatic win. Hated rival. That belongs on any list.
The Favre to Jennings in his kinda comeback year with the Packers. One of his best years in ages as a pack. It was like a "he's still got it" moment. Was an amazing ending.
And Rodgers to Rodgers was one of the most incredible endings to a game ever. Down 20-0 playing garbage. Seemed so hopeless. Especially when peppers was offsides earlier. Then 3rd down before the 2 minute warning the defense gives up a first. It seemed over. What canyou do with so little time and nothing is working. The lateral play was hopeless.
Wow. We Witnessed a moment that will be replayed for years to come.

Rodgers to Cobb at Soldier field was great, wasn't the last play but 40 seconds left.

That will live on forever.
Last year my favorite game was Rodgers fake spike in miami then TD to finish it off. It was as Marino clutch as it gets.
And talking playoffs the early 90s ('94 season I think) Favre launching a bomb to Sharpe alone in the end zone with seconds ticking. I will never forget that one.

This happened in the 93-94 playoffs. This moment is in my top 5 greatest Packer memories for sure.

I was 7 years old at the time and this was one of my first real memories of a Packers game. That throw was amazing and it seemed like Sharpe had nobody within 20 yards of him. I was so young that I didn't know the details on why Sterling Sharpe disappeared from the NFL after the 1994 season. It would have been AMAZING to have him during Favre's MVP run from 1995-97.
This was the type of game that crushed a franchise for years (Detroit), and helped vault a team on the rise (Green Bay). Detroit still hasn't won a playoff game since while we've won 2 Super Bowls.

Re: Top 5 greatest endings to a Packers game
Yancey Thigpen's drop in the end zone on the last game of the 1995 season to allow us to get a playoff home game deserves a mention.
Such an epic moment. At that point in my life it was the craziest I had ever seen Lambeau on TV, and cemented my love for the Packers.
Here's a recap on the game:
http://articles.latimes.com/1995-12-25/sports/sp-17676_1_touchdown-pass
It was the biggest crowd ever at Lambeau Field at the time! With the win, we won the NFC Central for the first time since 1972! Definitely a turning point in the renaissance of the Packers. That article has tons of other gems too.

That's awesome, it was an epic moment for a team on the rise. Although the only GOOD thing that came out of losing Sharpe was Favre stopped relying on 1 WR and started spreading it around. I think it changed his ways from...aw shucks just throw it to Sharpe to finding the right man open and following Holmgren's mentoring.

Anytime you have a game-winning touchdown scored by a guy who ran about a 6.6 40 but averaged 25 yards a carry, I think that qualifies.

The Polish prince!!! Holy crap chester! That's frigging awesome! I was too young to remember that game.
There was also some crazy MNF game with Lynn dickey against the Redskins I think in the early 80s that was supposed to be insane for its crazy scoring. I think I was in bed and not able to watch MNF those days.

I'll always remember Favre's first comeback against the Bengals. Awesome 4th quarter.

Re: Top 5 greatest endings to a Packers game
There's been some amazing endings to Packer's games, and I'm not including just my own lifetime here, so #1 is easy.
The Ice Bowl
Favre to Sharpe vs the Lions
Al Harris
Chester Marcol
Rodgers to Cobb
Replay Game
Favre's dive vs Atlanta
Hail Mary
Favre's first play throw vs Denver to end it in OT
The what almost was:
Rodgers just missing Greg Jennings in OT on the first or second play vs Arizona in the playoffs in 2009 (well, Jan 2010, I believe)

First Packers game I vividly remember was that game.

Both games had serious playoff implications - one in the playoffs, one locked up the division. I'd put those two first, then Favre-to-Sharpe at 3.

Favre to Sharpe was a playoff game too! Actually, the first playoff game we had won in forever.

For me, the top 3 are probably Al Harris INT, Freeman "WTF catch", and Rodgers Hail Mary.

Re: Top 5 greatest endings to a Packers game
If we're talking about the "last play of the game", it's easily either the Freeman MNF catch, Al Harris pick-6 in the playoffs, or the Hail Mary.
If we're just talking about the best ending, I don't see how anything beats the Ice Bowl, given the moment and the stakes in that game.

I know...that was worded poorly. I just would put those three above any run-of-the-mill regular season game.

Re: Top 5 greatest endings to a Packers game
I also think the Matt Flynn-led comeback in Dallas two years ago was pretty epic - down 26-3 at halftime, roaring back to win it in the end.
