Post Draft Thoughts/Grades/Predictions/UDFA's
I'm going to assume we won't be trading back into the draft at this point. Post your thoughts/grades/predictions for this year's draft class here. Who will be the best/worst pick? What is the media saying about our draft? Who should be looking to sign for UDFA's? Etc, etc, etc.

Re: Post Draft Thoughts/Grades/Predictions/UDFA's
My initial reaction is I like the positions filled just not sure on the players selected. I like what I've read on Clark, but we will see how he compares to the other ton of DL that were there, Clark seemed safe, we may have passed on some upside but we'll see.
I like the trade up for Spriggs, thought the value and need were both there.
Not really high on Fackrell pick given his age, frame (skinny) and knee injury.
No issue with the Martinez pick, seems reasonably able to cover and was productive in college.
Would have gone Adams over either Lowry or Davis. Given Adams' speed, thought he was a great developmental prospect at where he fell.
No issue with the Murphy pick.
Draft seems really tilted towards WC players. May be coincidence, just an observation.
Initial reaction B-/C+.

Re: Post Draft Thoughts/Grades/Predictions/UDFA's
Not sure how these guys will pan out, but very happy at the positions selected, front 7 on defense was weak IMO, 2 DL and 2 lb's are exactly what they needed, hopefully these guys can play. On paper they struck gold with the 2 tackles, both have a strong opportunity to be starters and long term answers. I hated how slow the skill positions were on offense, I have zero problem taking a flyer on a tall burner with great hands. Lots of intelligent west coast and Midwest athletes.
My biggest concern is if Miles Jack stays healthy, he has rare playmaking abilities, but I would've passed as well. I really was hoping for a RB with speed, quickness, and the ability to catch the ball.....perhaps Montgomery will be that third down back.

Re: Post Draft Thoughts/Grades/Predictions/UDFA's
Not many well known players that the everyday fan would easily be able to recognize or see production from, but I think TT did another one of his usual draft classes where many of these guys will contribute in some way down the road. Getting big guys on both the OL and DL, two interesting LB options going into next year, and depth at the WR position won't excite many people, but I don't see a reason that we shouldn't expect a couple of starters out of these picks.

Pretty much agree with you all. None of us know how these guys will pan out in the long run but at least we're plugging positions of need.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Post Draft Thoughts/Grades/Predictions/UDFA's
The fu**ing Vikings stole 3 of my sleepers.
They did this to me last year with Kendricks, Diggs, and Dubose.
As far as our picks, I am cautiously optimistic. I think both Olineman we drafted could become starters for us by next year if need be. Don't know much about the linebackers, but I pray the ILB works out.

I think all of the NFC North made out pretty well this year. I don't like that.

Re: Post Draft Thoughts/Grades/Predictions/UDFA's
As much as we lament Masthay's punting inconsistencies, he is a crucial part of our fg unit. And, he has shown the ability (albeit extremely erratically) to play at a competent level. Maybe they bring in a punter? But, I don't think it's their priority. The same w TE's. I think most forget we have two really interesting prospects in Backman and Mitchell Henry in addition to Cook, Dick Rod, and the Everyman Perillo. LOVE the OT selections. I think Davis is going to surprise. To me, this draft will come down to what we have w Martinez; NW DL (name evades me); and Fackrell.

I don't like the Lions draft and the Bears picks are meh. The only pick of theirs I like is Whitehair in the 2nd who I think we get in the 2nd round if we don't trade up.

Re: Post Draft Thoughts/Grades/Predictions/UDFA's
Draft was fine. Wouldn't have played it the same way but TT seemed very set on the first two picks. We could have traded down in a draft heavy with DT talent but really wanted Clark. We obviously really wanted Spriggs.
The mere fact that we apparently coveted both pretty badly makes me fairly confident TT is on to something.
This is such a crucial draft. I give it a B, and it really has to be about that at least. If the linebackers and Clark can help fairly early and significantly, this draft will be a Godsend.

Was hoping to upgrade the defensive front 7, so I'm happy we used 4 picks on it. Whether they were the right picks or not, we'll see.

That is all I ask. As much as you want to hit on the picks it's more about did we make huge reaches (no) and did we TRY to improve our weaknesses (yes). You could argue we should have drafted a TE, but they were so week this year.

Didn't get any of the guys I wanted but that is most likely a good thing. I always trust ted to have at the least a decent draft. We shall see but I don't know that I see a lot of immediate contributors.

Re: Post Draft Thoughts/Grades/Predictions/UDFA's
As you can only put it, it was a "Ted Thompson" draft. Nothing but solid players that will help this team. I assume half will be gone after 2 years but what can you do. There were some guys I wanted that we didn't get including that German WR but we did alright. I would like a punter just for competition. I give it a solid B this year. Now on to the late additions of the leftovers, like Caputo and Erickson from the Badgers.

Re: Post Draft Thoughts/Grades/Predictions/UDFA's
Really hope we go after Cash as a UDFA. Not sure why he wasn't drafted. He was the ACC defensive player of the year and has had multiple 100 plus tackle seasons with a nose for the football. Perhaps his wrist injury scared people off but would love to give him a year on the practice squad to bulk up to eventual become a linebacker.
