About time to get this thread started. I'm about to start my draft prep so who are some of your sleepers for this season?

Really like this team.. Was Gurley your 1st pick I'm assuming? What pick did you have?

Agreed, that's why I took Jordy with a late pick last year in my keeper league. I now get to keep him for a 14 th round pick. ;-)

I don't know if he's a sleeper because I haven't looked at rankings but David Johnson for the Cards is probably worthy of a second or third round pick. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a top 3 fantasy rb this year.

Also, new Chargers receivers are vastly underrated every year, like they don't even make Matthew Berry's lists anywhere. I draft them with like my last two picks (before getting a kicker and defense or individual defense players in IDP leagues). A couple of years ago it was Eddie Royal. Last year it was Stevie Johnson.

The thing is, anyone who goes to play with Rivers who previously played with crappy to avg QBs do really well. He spreads the ball around a lot. Sure Keenan Allen will get the most yards by far, but after that I wouldn't be surprised if a guy like Travis Benjamin was a sleeper. The guy had 966 yards and 5 tds playing with Browns QBs last year. I mean that had to be the worst group of QBs in the league.

Also, maybe Hunter Henry for a deep sleeper TE or backup TE.

I have a feeling that once the training camp buzz starts rolling in that he may move up to 2nd or 3rd overall. He's not going to drop out of the 1st round.

To add to Travis Benjamin, he was one of the best deep threats last year. But BY FAR the biggest deep threat in the league was San Diego's Malcom Floyd, who retired. Check out this column on on RELAY rankings

The big play is a highly coveted outcome in fantasy football. In a league that continues to trend pass-happy, we often look to the receiver position for such slate-shifting performances. The goal of this piece is to get a better idea of which NFL offenses have consistently and prolifically pushed the ball deep downfield; and subsequently which players we suspect should have meaningful vertical roles for their respective offenses in 2016. There is natural variance in big-play production in the NFL, but let's attempt to identify some potential indicators for unearthing such production.

As my colleague Mike Clay has deduced, YAC (yards after the catch) and even yards per reception haven't proved particularly predictive or consistent for projecting yardage production. With a specific eye on big-play mavens at the position - given that average depth of target has proved somewhat predictive in projecting receiving performance - we've employed a study of relative air yards per target at the wide receiver position. Air yards are simply the yards traveled in the air from the point of release to the intended receiver.

To add some clarity to this concept of relative air yards - or "RELAY," to make it sound cooler - we've subtracted the average air yards traveled per target for receivers with at least 30 targets in 2015 from their team's average air yards per target to the position. For example, the Miami Dolphins' receivers averaged 10.4 air yards per target last season, while rookie DeVante Parker averaged 14.3 air yards per target, netting him a RELAY rate of 3.9 yards - the sixth-highest clip of the 2015 season. Below, you'll find the top 30 performers in RELAY from last season.

Not necessarily sleepers, but I have done a couple of espn mocks and some "buy low" candidates I will be targeting;
Dion Lewis - adp 55
Randall Cobb - adp 52
Ryan Mathews - adp 62
Gio - adp 108
Bortles - adp 109

I like all those guys to outperform their draft positions.

I can't decide how I feel about Bortles. Jaguars will be an interesting team this year.

Draft strategy question, I am in a keeper league where I have David Johnson for a 9th round pick. I have the 5th pick and normally would try to get one of the top WR, but think Brown and Beckham will be off the board. So eyeing up a RB like Bell or Gurley at 5 and then just hitting WR hard for the next 3 or 4 rounds and picking up a TE and then loading up my back up RB position with Lewis, Mathews, Gio, Woodhead type guys...thoughts?

Other option would be to go Gronk at 5, or roll the dice on Julio staying healthy or rolling with one of Julio (can't stay healthy), Hopkins (don't trust Brock, but he did good with trash last year), Dez (his QB can't stay healthy)

I really, really just want to trade down and try to get some quantity in round 2 and 3

Is the league a PPR? If so You can't go wrong with Bell (as long as you get his backup) or Gronk/Julio. If i had the choice between bell/julio/gronk I'd roll with Bell to have your RB's set for the season. Then go WR heavy. I read some recent mocks that have david Johnson as a top 5 RB. If you can have 2 top 5 RB's I say go for it!

I rode bortles to a FF championship last year. The league I am in doesn't do negative points for turnovers so it was an easy gamble. They were always losing and passing... This year they may be better, so I don't foresee every game where he gets 250+ yards and 2 tds as the games will be closer.

I'm targeting him as my Q2 in every league this year. People are still sleeping on him thinking the Jags still stink. I think he'll go comparable to where Palmer did last year, 12th-14th roundish (at least in my leagues where the elite go early, the second wave around round 7, then crapshoot)

I feel like somebody in most leagues I'm in will pay for Bortles as maybe the #7 or #8 QB. I generally sit around and take 2 QBs in that 12th-14th round in most snake leagues so I'd take him in the outcome you note above.

More poised for a breakout...Funchess or Sammie Coates? I'm leaning Coates if for no other reason than QB play. Opportunity is there too with Bryant out for the year. I think Cam reintegration both Benjamin and Funchess might get sketchy week to week.

If anyone has an opening in a league I would be interested. Prefer a money league with buy in and standard PPR non auction.
