Keep it close and try to steal it at the end. The thing we have going for us is a night game.

Re: OSU @ Wisconsin
No picks by Horni would help. He doesn't have to throw for 300 yards or a bunch of TD's but we need to be turnover free to have a chance.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Already have my tickets to this one. I'm thinking about going to Gameday in the morning but still undecided. It makes for a long day. I've been to the basketball version but never the football one so I'm not sure if it's even worth it to go.

Also going to the game, with my dad. Cannot wait, crowd is going to be nuts. Seeing an 80% chance for storms right now starting right around kickoff, hope that changes as the week progresses. Normally sloppy conditions would favor a run heavy Badger team but eh, who knows with how Clement has looked.

Came back for the OSU game after my last year in 2010...best game I've ever been at in the student section.
I think I went to a couple gamedays but it's so tough to get to/bring a sign during college when you're drinking til 3-4 AM the night before.

I always seem to stumble into tickets for the night games somehow, and I did again last night for this one. Pretty pumped.

Re: OSU @ Wisconsin
You couldn't pay me to go to that game, honestly. I've long decided that I'd rather sit with friends, affordable food, and warmth in front of my big screen rather than spending my evening around a large number of obnoxiously drunk folks, in the cold, for hundreds of dollars. It just isn't worth it to me anymore to go to Camp Randall.
Oddly, I generally feel more warmly about going to the Kohl Center, Bradley Center, Miller Park, or Lambeau, but even then, I'd probably choose to watch it at home unless it involved cheap tickets, good seats, and/or lots of friends.

For a season-wide basis I agree, but night games are Camp Randall are amazing. Also, it's mid October, not January.

Re: OSU @ Wisconsin
Yeah, to each their own and we're mostly on the same page. I'm in agreement that I don't enjoy going to games that much anymore for any sport. I've turned down a few Packer games/trips the past few years. Just let me watch it on TV.
HOWEVER, if I'm ever going to go to any game at all, it's one like this. The only time I'd rather ditch the confines of home is it if is an extremely meaningful game in an awesome atmosphere. This would be it for me.

Night games are even worse for drunk/obnoxious folks. They've had a full day to get hammered. I've long gotten tired of dealing with that bull.
You're right that the weather isn't as bad as it is in January, but if its raining, it's not fun to be there no matter the temperature. I hope it doesn't rain, though, because it will take away from the atmosphere significantly.
Of course, more power to all of you who are excited about going. I hope you have an awesome time and I'm sure the atmosphere will be electric.
I'll have plenty of fun with homemade chicken wings, my flatscreen, my recliner, and the friends coming over.

Yeah, I know you're not a drinker so I wouldn't want to do that either. Even though I'll have a few drinks at a game, I would generally agree that I don't care for dealing with drunk/obnoxious people. Once a year, though, for a game like this, I'll join the masses.

Re: OSU @ Wisconsin
I've found more drunks and obnoxious people in the "adult" sections than when I was in the student sections. And many more than are at Lambeau. Camp Randall gets nuts. As a student I went to almost every game, now I go about once a year. Still fun, I just don't want to be there every game.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: OSU @ Wisconsin
I guess I haven't gotten to that point yet. I'm mid 30's, but work 60ish hour weeks and have two kids, sporting events are kind of my release. Went to LSU/Wisco this year and that might have been my favorite overall football game I've ever attended. I don't mind drunk people unless they are bothering me, which really never happens.

I'd prefer not to go because i fear the Badgers could get whipped and i was at a Packers game a few years ago where they got whipped , man that sucked.
Not only did they lose bad, the weather was supposed to be in the 50's, but instead it was in the high 30's with windy mist. I along with friends were miserable. The next Packer game i attended it was really cold outside and that was my final straw. Never again will i attend a football game unless the weather is good and even then i've only gone to games twice, instead of one or two a year.
The drunks don't bother me. It's spending the money, the drive, and long lines for concessions which makes attending a drag to where watching on my TV is more attractive.

Football is the only major sport better on TV than live, IMO.

I agree unless you are in the nose bleeds for basketball, then I'd rather just be at home. Hockey, no matter where you are in the stadium, is much better than on TV.

Re: OSU @ Wisconsin
My issue with going to games is the experience doesn't match up with what the hard core fans want. Close foul at a NBA game? No chance they show it. NFL games seem to have bad replay/av. Add in bad wifi where you can't get up to the minute stats and injury updates and I feel I'm missing a lot of the game being there.
Although the worst is watching a big game with casual fans. I lose my **** when a QB under pressure throws it away and some girl who suddenly is the biggest packer fans go nuts about how bad the pass was.

I think soccer is also better on television for the same reasons as American football, unless you've got seats that face midfield. I went to the USA-Costa Rica Copa America match at Soldier Field and sat directly behind the goal with the American Outlaws. The singing and chanting and stuff was fun, but the depth perception is a huge challenge and when the ball is being played at the opposite end of the pitch, it's really frustrating.
Also, I've never had more beer spilled on me in one night than I did at that match, which as a non-drinker was absolutely annoying. Every time you score a goal, the Outlaws toss their cups of beers into the air. It's an idiotic tradition that really pissed me off. I'm glad that you don't see that as a general part of other live sports events.
