I really hope they let this dude go next year - if you can't keep the weight off in a contract year, when will you?

A more well round player at that position would do wonders for this offense right now anyways

Yeah, looked like he gained weight the last few months after losing it in the first part of the offseason.

Gut is more pronounced.

2013 and 2014 he was much leaner

It is hard to believe a guy adds 30 pounds in season. I'd sign him to a 1 year 3.5M deal and if you can do a team option in football, that's what I would do.

Otherwise, the value of RB has demised so much in years, you see Derrick Henry, David Johnson type guys available after the first round. Use a second round and get a stud and use him up the next 4 years.

It was obvious to me from Week 1 that he didn't look noticeably thinner at all. But he may have better fitness this time around.

I have a hard time seeing lacy coming back this year. Dude will probably be up around 300 lbs having to be off his feet for a while.

On paper Knile Davis looks like an awful player. I'm interested in seeing what he looks like.

I hope to god that McCarthy doesn't end up getting a pass because of all of the injuries this year.

This is close to where we were in 2010.

I hope McCarthy evolves from here. No full house backfield. Let Rodgers sling it 40-50 times with ~15 of those being "runs" to Cobb/Montgomery. The Patriots do it...we can. I don't think it will be too hard for Knile to get near the 3.7 YPC that Blount runs for.

Unfortunately we'll probably see Perillo flanked out wide on 40% of plays and have McCarthy try to "establish the run" for half the game.

This is a back-breaker. Weight issues aside, Eddie was on pace for one of his best years. If the passing game doesn't start showing up soon, we're not a playoff team.

If anything he will get some first and second down touches, with Ty getting all the third down and hurry up action IMO. That said, I am wait and see on Davis this week.

With his speed he can get in on 3rd for screens and pass catching.

I can't see Knile Davis being an every down back, if they get a running game they have to hope Donald Jackson ends up being something most don't think he is or Starks does a repeat of 2010.

He will. Then he'll fire a position coach or two, adjust Edgar Bennett's title, and talk about "fundamentals" and "getting the running game going" when his offense is still struggling in week 3.

This sounds extremely backwards because the threat of a running game should be a benefit to any offense, but I almost feel like maybe if Rodgers throws the ball 45-50 times a game, that'll get him back to where we know he's capable of playing.

Heard on the radio this morning that McCarthy's pressers sound just like Wannstedt's used to. Spot on observation.

A good coach/OC would be making major and minor adjustments based on the new personnel and the lack of offensive production the past several games. I have zero faith that MM will do either.

I don't claim to know more about football than MM but it sure seems as if once he comes up with a game plan he has no ability to make adjustments on the fly as the game dictates. That's what Clements and Bennett should be doing and maybe they are and MM ignores them, I don't know.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I don't see Lacy back this year if he's getting surgery on his foot. Shields will probably be the one who comes back.

Yes only 1. It's too bad it can't be retroactive to when Shields was last active (game 1). Assuming Shields will even be ready at all.

There is a very real possibility his career is over...I hate to say it, but I know everyone here is thinking it too.
