This was one of those rare games where McCarthy actually looked like a good NFL head coach.

Re: Eagles Post Game
If we are honest with ourselves, we benefitted from some huge breaks. The roughing the passer that extended a drive and the non-PI call on the first defensive stop that was 50/50.

Re: Eagles Post Game
Thought that challenge by Pederson on Cook's 2 yard drop would've turned the tide, but thankfully it did not.

A bonus to the win is we don't have to listen to ESPN slobber over Wentz the next hour.

Re: Eagles Post Game
still see our warts, but some impressive parts of the game: that last drive that started near their own goal line and went 8:00 to finish the scoring; Adams!; Rodgers; some pass rush finally; some quality kickoff coverage.

Re: Eagles Post Game
So where are all the people that thought Adams should be cut, wanted him cut or thought Janis was a better #3 option?

Re: Eagles Post Game
I think it's pretty damn obvious by now: Davante Adams played the significant portion of last season with a completely unhealthy ankle. He absolutely relies on his cutting and quick jab movements in short space to get his cover off-step. Case and point the slant TD and the cut to the 3 yd line in the 2nd half. When he is healthy And A Rod is in form that is a very lethal combination.

Pretty much. Adams route running looks light years better without the ankle injury and his route running is starting to get to the point where he's starting gain the ability to get deep much same way Jennings did even without top flight strait line speed

It's crazy to think that if we had simply beat the Colts and Titans we would control our own destiny for the #2 seed right now.

Quite honestly, I don't know if we've ever seen him call a game, in terms of the play calls, as great as he did last night. I can barely think of any play calls that were even head-scratchers, not including any that Rodgers audibled out of. Either way, it's still hard to see them going anywhere this year, with that secondary, but it was nice to stop the bleeding. Adams has really come on and the o-line was outstanding. We'll see if they build off of this.

...his route running wasn't the only, or even the biggest, problem with Davante. It was his hands. It's always been his hands.

Re: Eagles Post Game
It was a nice win. I don't feel that much better about our team, though. I still think our defense is suspect, especially up the middle. Our pass rush was embarrassing at times yesterday for a team with as much high-priced/high-picked players in its front seven.
But Rodgers looked like old Rodgers, and he's clearly returned to form over these last few weeks. That's a good thing.

It was nice to see them try and dominate time of possession to hide the defense the way Dallas has been doing the past few years.

Exactly. He went from a guy who drops everything to a guy who catches everything in a single season. The fact that Rodgers fully trusted and supported Davante through the lowest of lows should have been enough for me. Oh well, more than happy to admit I was wrong about him.

Re: Eagles Post Game
It was nice to see Rodgers at the line reading the defense with 20+ seconds on the play clock. As opposed to walking to the line trying to either get an offsides free play or catching the defense with 12 men. The pace and rhythm of the offense last night was a thing of beauty.

Yup. Thats why its so damn frustrating when the offense is stagnant. It shouldn't be. Ever. At least not with Aaron Rodgers and capable O Line.

Adams has clearly proven all the doubters wrong. With that being said, I don't think it was that crazy to not have a ton of faith in him going into the season. He showed some flashes his rookie year, but was an absolute dud last year when he had every opportunity to shine. I was an Adams doubter heading into the season. I'm clearly wrong at this point.
On another note, does Starks have any idea how to run in a straight line? He makes every yard look so difficult to pick up.

Re: Eagles Post Game
I expect us to run the table outside of Seattle, finish 9-7, miss playoffs, and completely mess up our draft position. Basically a typical Wisconsin pro sports team end of season run.

Re: Eagles Post Game
Wait, so getting the ball to the WR in a position to, you know, run after the catch was a good thing? Huh, groundbreaking stuff.
Drives me nuts that so many people here can see something so obvious, but over the last two years, the staff and team can't figure out how to do that week to week.
Also, way too much Starks and not enough Montgomery in that backfield. Seeing what the Steelers are doing with Bell and what the Cardinals are doing with David Johnson, we really need to be using Ty like that, and not just having him run two yards out and turning.
