ATL: Week 13

Post#1 » by Mags FTW » Thu Dec 1, 2016 2:36 pm

Big game tonight with regards to our division chances. I have a feeling the Vikes step up to the plate like they did last year @Arizona, almost winning with their best defenders out and -3 in turnovers. Their backs are somewhat against the wall, they're at home and will probably have a raucous crowd, and if Zimmer is out they'll try to "win one for the gipper".

I think the Queens pull this one out. But I have to root for the **** Cowboys anyway.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Two of my most hated teams in pro sports tonight, these two and the Lakers.

Vikings pass rush vs the Cowboys o-line should be fun to watch.I could count on one hand the times I've said this since I've followed the NFL,but go Cowboys.

Queens just hanging around until they get that defense/special teams TD.

I'm guessing Bradford comes back in.

I hate that I have to root for the Vikings, but I'm the only one in my family confidence pool to take them in tonight's game. With the maximum 15 points, too.

yay the ass holes won

I think the LT had a false start on the 2 point, so I don't feel bad about the weak blow to the head.

Yeah, also was wondering why they didn't call that.

Glad to be wrong about the Vikings. They still have a reasonable shot at the last WC due to an easy schedule while everyone else's is brutal...but this was an enjoyable collapse.

Those false starts by tackles are often let go though. I remember when the Packers would play the 49ers during those years they kept beating the Packers, their LT Staley would have about ten of those per game.

No idea why they're let go though. You literally bounce back and get yourself into great position so the guy can't beat you off the edge on the snap.

There's no way an edge rusher is going to get around him when he's jumping that early. Don't really pay attention to a ton of other games but if it happens a lot, refs should constantly call it. Calling that a few times a game on each team will get them to stay in their stance until the actual snap.

Yeah, Jason Peters got away with that a couple times this past Monday.

I don't think refs are "letting it go", I think they just don't catch it. After seeing the movement, the refs need to look at the ball and see if it has been snapped yet before they can actually throw the flag. In real time, by the time the ref has "observed movement>brain processes it and tells him to look at ball>eyes focus on ball" the ball has already been snapped so they can't call it with certainty.

Even in the slowed down clip, if you focus on the tackle and wait until he moves before looking at the ball, it's still bang/bang. Only if you focus on the ball and see the movement in your peripheral does it become obvious.

Hopefully most of Seattle's defense gets injured tonight. And Wilson.
