Seattle Lead Up

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Mon Dec 5, 2016 4:28 pm

Basically a playoff game. While 9-7 could get in, I doubt it. Good test to see where this team is right now. Wilson being 100% for the first time this season is troubling. And I could see Graham going off. Rawls too.

Seattle 2.5 point favorites. Seems a bit low.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Seattle looked like complete crap the week before against Tampa Bay on the road. They're an entirely different team outside of Seattle.

Thomas being out is rather large for us. Hopefully McCarthy finally does the right thing and benches Starks in favor of Montgomery and Michael for this game.

Yeah Starks can sit the rest of the season. TT seems to love him but I hope he's not back next year. He has a $3.75 million cap hit in 2017 but only $750K dead money if he's cut. No reason for spend almost $4 million on James Starks.

Starks has been a huge disappointment this season, but I can get why Michael hasn't gotten more carries. He has to learn the playbook, the audibles, the protection schemes, etc. That takes time. He could be a good source of intelligence on the Seahawks offense, though.

We might still get in but this is a litmus test game. If we can't beat Seattle at home when when it's a must win, there is no point in making the playoffs. Lose here and fire up the tank (which they won't do).

For anyone going to the game this Sunday, don't do this (I thought this might be Twirl but he lives in Hartland with the other area polo and bridge players.)

A Packers fan from Slinger had to celebrate the team's win over Houston in jail Sunday after deputies say he stiffed a cab driver nearly $500 for a ride home after the man got drunk, lost his cell phone and was separated from his friends at Lambeau Field.

Nathan Tyler Meleski, 24, convinced the Yellow Cab driver he'd pay him when he got home, but instead slipped away from a truck stop ATM, only to be tracked in the fresh snow to a Richfield bar and arrested.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the cabbie called 911 about 5:30 p.m. from the Richfield Truck Stop, located west of Interstate 41 at Holy Hill Road. He told a responding deputy that he had driven a man from Lambeau to the station, where the passenger said he would use an ATM inside to get the $475.60 fare.

But the sheriff's office says Meleski slipped out the back of the business and left the 59-year-old cabbie without paying.

Deputies tracked Meleski through the fresh snow, and after about an hour found him at Fat Charlie's, a downtown Richfield bar. Meleski told deputies he'd been at the Packers game, got drunk, became separated from his friends and lost his cell phone.

But he was sober enough to persuade the cab driver to take him all the way to Richfield — 111 miles — on a promise to pay on arrival.

Meleski's next ride was free — in a patrol car, to the Washington County Jail, where he was arrested and booked on a charge of defrauding a taxi cab operator, a misdemeanor, and released. He had not been formally charged as of noon Monday. A conviction on the charge brings a maximum penalty of nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine.

The owner of Yellow Cab Green Bay, who would identify himself only as Rod, said the company's driver should have required advance payment for any ride outside the city.

The Bucs are 7-5.

Redskins are 6-5-1

Giants are 8-4

Packers legit need to win out. I don't see Tampa folding... and the Skins will get to 9 wins based on their schedule.

The Lions might take an L to Dallas or NYG... The division might be the only route.

Skins have tiebreaker over us, we have it over Giants. Giants and Lions play next week, which helps. One will lose. And Giants have Dallas and Washington. They could easily go 1-3. Skins have an easy schedule with Philly, Carolina and Giants the next 3 weeks. Detroit could be facing a Dallas team with home field locked up. That would suck.

We still have a 79% chance to make it if we lose to SEA, and then win out:

Yeah, 9-7 has a pretty good shot as noted in the other thread. Tampa has to go to Dallas, the Giants still have Dallas, the Giants also suck. The Giants play the Lions, opening up one loss for someone we're chasing. As noted, Dallas may be resting guys against Detroit, but are we sure that Dallas is going to want to rest up for the final two weeks AND (obviously) their bye week off? That's a lot of time off.

Skins tiebreaker likely won't matter unless we also tie a game.

The Dallas situation is interesting because let's say they don't have anything to play for the final couple of weeks -- you'd have to think that Romo is going to play instead of Dak and Romo's going to be auditioning for his career going forward. Plus, that OL is obviously the best in the league, so even if they rest Elliott, the backup RB's could still have a decent game too.

Even without guys like Dak, Zeke, Dez and Witten, I'd still think they would have a good shot at beating either Tampa or Detroit (maybe even both) at home.

Very good points.

I imagine MM wants to be very sure Michael knows his protection assignments. He probably even prioritizes that over actual running-back ability.

What a fíng ****. That's a long Goddamn drive, I've done it many times since my parent's home is in Richfield.

Two of my most painful moments as a Packers fan come at the hands of the Seahawks - the replacement refs and the Bostick debacle. I also enter each game vs Seattle expecting a loss. I expect the same this Sunday, unfortunately.

There's the game the season Holmgren took over in Seattle, they came to Green Bay and beat us with Jon Kitna. We did beat them at home last year so there's that

You can never take away the hassleback Al Harris game. That will always be a fond memory.
