2017 NFL Draft: Day 3 draft thread

Post#1 » by wichmae » Sat Apr 29, 2017 3:28 am

We have two 4's two 5's and a 6, 7.

Need to address a couple LBs and look at maybe a back. Lots a wideouts still on the board and a ton of TEs.

Carl Lawson, Vince Biegel, and probably guys like Keion Adams or Josh Carraway. You could get somewhat creative too and target an elephant guy like Odenigbo from Northwestern

To be honest Odenigbo wouldnt be a bad guy to look at. He cannot play the run but has tha pass rush specialist feel to him. Has moves and has the athletic ability to be a force.

If we get Biegel or another legit OLB, I'll be happy.

Carl Lawson, Vince Biegel, Carlos Watkins (more of a Dline/pass rush)

Outside of pass rushers:

ILB= Ben Gedeon, Ben Boulware

Some decent olineman

A few RBs that are decent

Yeah, I assumed barring a wideout blue chipper falling we would wait on that because there is going to be a lot of them in the later rounds. Tight ends too.

I mean the fact that Jake Butt, Leggett, Hodges, Hollins, Dupre, and others are still there proves that. All the ILBs are similar to what we have.

Almost forgot about Carraway. Maybe Ted "makes up" for passing on Watt by taking Biegel. Carlos Watkins is the exact opposite of Adams....relentless motor, but I don't see us going DT again.

Did they beat you up in a bar fight, because other than injuries, they've done as well as you could expect from their draft position?

I think that's the point. To get an impact ILB, maybe stop waiting until the 4th and 5th round.

or maybe TT knows that ILB have low value in a 3-4, unless they are a generational talent. He should. I do.

I get his point too. From someone who was on team Cunningham the Foster stuff on this board is kind of nauseating.

I know it never happens - but with ILB being valued low by most teams - it seems at least one team would have a half way decent extra ILB they'd trade for one of our 5th's?

They already have their ILB in Matthews if he'd just accept playing there.

Maybe in our 3-4. Ask the Ravens if Moseley has low value to them or the Cards Buchannon, or the Steelers' Shazier.

Those aren't "generational" guys, but they're valuable first round picks that none of those teams regret making in the least.

But look, nobody is clamoring for even somebody really good. Even average LBs inside would help, unless you don't think WIll Tye (so dangerous the Giants just picked a TE first) catching a 55 yarder on Blake Martinez or Jake Ryan trying to go sideline to sideline to make tackles against the Falcons' speed is a problem.
