Training camps are starting this week for most teams, some have already started.

Was hoping for a place we can read about anything interesting going on in camps around the league.

I also wanted to share this video of Antonio Brown beating a kid one on one in his summer camp.

http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=20139943

And honestly, the kid stayed with him pretty nicely, he did a better job then most of our corners from last year.

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/07/25/health/cte-nfl-players-brains-study/index.html

99 out of 100 deceased NFL players had CTE. Chris Borland's decision makes a lot more sense now.

I had dinner with some Aussie guys the other night, they love NFL football, but of course grew up on Rugby. They said, "When you remove the helmets in American football, you will save the game."

I wouldn't go that far, but I think they are on the right track. You go head first into someone with your head being the tip of a missile without a helmet, you'll never do something that stupid ever again. You won't do it twice.

He said the system down under from 4yrs to 10yrs all they do is teach kids HOW TO TACKLE. They just teach fundamentals about how to tackle and tackling safe at a real real young age. The kids barely learn the actual game, they just line up and tackle each other over and over again. Teaching them not to get their heads smashed.

By middle school they start to learn the game more, but it's still focused on tackling. Then by high school the fundamentals are in place and then they full on get into the game, strategy, skill, etc. So basically some kids might have a 5-10yrs of fundamentals and learning how to safely tackle someone by the time they grew up and get big.

Seriously the NFL game is in danger even though it's the king of sports right now. And I think the solutions are partially there. Start adopting the rugby style of tackling, and you still have plenty of exciting hits, you've added safety legitimately, not some bogus PR move.

The Seahawks already do it. The NFL needs to spread the word throughout the league, and then start implementing it at the little leagues across the country so the next generation can learn how to tackle safely before they enter HS, College, and pros. It will take a generation to clean it up, but they need to start now at EVERY LEVEL. The NFL is sitting on treasures of money they can definitely spend $$$ to implement and educate at all levels to help the sport. They should be making this a big campaign to clean their image, save the next generation, and keep their sport going strong long term.

I've said it for the past 4 years; if the NFL is serious about concussion/brain safety they should immediately 1. reduce helmets to rugby style padded helmets and eliminate shoulder pads and 2. Implement a real PED screening and punishment program.

The dreaded DOUBLE UP Commercial break is gone.

http://www.tmj4.com/sports/green-bay-packers/nfl-to-cut-down-on-commercial-breaks-around-touchdowns-and-kickoffs

Even as a diehard football fan, I actually found this break INSULTING. Like I felt they were giving a big F*** You to fans every time they did this. To say, Ya you want your football so bad we are gonna shove commercials down your throat till you puke, and you will take it.

And the WORST OF ALL, Scoring inside of 1 minute on 1st and 3rd quarters.

I'm a fan of replay but the entire TD process to next possession is painful:

#1) TD yay!
#2) Replay TD. Deadtime. :blank:
#3) Xtra point. Basically boring deadtime. :blank:
#4) Commercial. Deadtime. :x
#5) KO which is now usually a Touchback. Deadtime.
#6) Commercial break. deadtime :banghead:
#7) Run one play. Clock expires.
#8) Commercial break. :upset:  :banghead: :banghead:

It's gotten to the point where I dread if there's a score inside one minute of the 1st or 3rd quarters.

And to counter the loss of revenue of removing #6 they will probably extend the commercial breaks or start throwing logos on jerseys and each quarter of football will have a sponsor. "Our 1st quarter is brought to you by...."

I'm still really pissed that we didn't draft Ruben Foster.

Looking forward to having football back on my mind. Watching the RBs and CBS this camp/preseason will be my main focus. Interested to see how those two groups handle themselves.

Heard Ty is weighing in at 223 pounds. Pretty solid.

Meh. Rookie kid, had a bad day. Now if it's the 3rd preseason game and he's still averaging 2-3 bad snaps a game, then I'd be alarmed, but I'm sure in the old days plenty of people looked like garbage during training camp, but we just didn't tweet every bad play. Rodgers looked like **** his rookie camp.

Was at family night his rookie year. Remember thinking how good Tramon Williams was going to be and how bad Aaron Rodgers looked.

At the same time, this is Chicago (big market) and they traded a lot to move up 1 spot when he was about to fall to them anyways. If nothing else, the scrutiny may be Tribusky's downfall.

Vikes spending a lot of money this offseason. Going to play a huge role in their Bradford/Bridgewater decision.

Why your team sucks Bears edition is the best porn.

Edit: When you watch the video of Trubisky being drafted, keep an eye out in the background for a guy in a white Rodgers jersey laughing his ass off.

ESPN sent some of their reporters around the country to see every camp and today polled them to see who had the best rookie padded practices yet.

The overwhelming majority said McCaffrey on offense and Reuben Foster on defense.

Foster has had at least one int in every practice, except one. This could be more due to bad QB play though.

Going to root for Cutler to tear it up, just to cause Bear fans some agony.
