McGinn Launches Packers coverage site

Post#1 » by paulpressey25 » Thu Aug 24, 2017 4:17 pm

Pretty impressive rollout. $25 for a full season coverage extending through next draft.

Will have it built out with a fantasy section, Reischel columns and he has his own photographer. Now waiting for NFL to credential him.

The new media world is here.

But Mickey and I don't have our own sideline photographer covering practices and games! 8-)

I'll probably get a subscription for the same reason I gave Ken Rosenthal's new site $43 yesterday. Got their content for free for about a decade and I like supporting writers. Pretty confident McGinn's still gonna be better than anyone out there.

This seems odd. Didn't he move to Michigan and now he's going to be covering the Packers again?

Might have been a ruse while he let his contract and any retirement severance run out. He notes he messed up his shoulder so can't play golf and was looking for something to do. Maybe.

I just subscribed. $25 is a good deal for some good analysis. His weekly Tuesday column grading the team after each game is always interesting.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

This is fantastic news. You can agree or disagree with some of his takes from time-to-time, sure, BUT his Packers coverage is second to absolutely none. I will be paying shortly.

It's quite hilarious, I will go Google Chrome Incognito style on the jsonline sport site for dayzzzz. McGinn? Happy to dole out $25 for what they'll bring. Hell, I'd have been happy to pay $35.

I guess McGinn was on Fox 6 Blitz last night for all you McGinn zealots.

I'm sensing some serious jelly going on with Rob here. Maybe don't link every tweet you have to the ESPN website for hits and I could support you more.

It seems every other Packer reporter solely reports sentimental fluff kind of stories. McGinn seems to be the only one to actually break down X's and O's which I greatly appreciate. He's not perfect and can be kind of grouchy but I'm glad he's back and I've already subscribed.

Well, Demovsky works for ESPN and that seems to be a company wide policy, so I'm not exactly sure what he's supposed to do in that case other than leave ESPN, which doesn't make sense unless he has another job lined up that pays more.

My company has blocked the site. Bastards. I have to use my phone or read it at home.

You have a day job? I always pictured you as an International Man of Mystery who used Art's as his hideout. 8-)

Demovsky also isn't as good as McGinn. He's not in his universe as a writer or a reporter. His Olivia Munn take was one of the worst things I've read on ESPN about the Packers.

That isn't to say I haven't criticized McGinn many times for some of his hot takes, but Demovsky sounds petty as hell.

Big J journo fights are always entertaining lol. I assume this stems from some specific incident where McGinn took a condescending shot at Rob where he implied that he "respect the biz".
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.
