http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21599047/new-york-giants-start-quarterback-geno-smith-eli-manning-weekThe last time Manning didn't start was November 14, 2004. Kurt Warner started that game for the Giants -- a 17-14 loss to the Cardinals. His streak is the second longest by a quarterback in NFL history, behind Brett Favre's 297.

"Coach McAdoo told me I could continue to start while Geno and Davis are given an opportunity to play," Manning said. "My feeling is that if you are going to play the other guys, play them. Starting just to keep the streak going and knowing you won't finish the game and have a chance to win it is pointless to me, and it tarnishes the streak. Like I always have, I will be ready to play if and when I am needed. I will help Geno and Davis prepare to play as well as they possibly can."

Amazing he has more rings than his brother. And Favre. And Rodgers. Never really liked the guy but it's tough to be benched after so many years.

It's got to be tough for Eli, no doubt. The man has started every game for 13 years. But the Giants are making the right call, IMO.

Peyton also has 2 rings. One with Denver his last season.

Don’t feel bad for Eli at all. He started off his career by refusing to play for the Chargers. Well, now the Giants are refusing to play him. Extremely overrated QB.

It is amazing and it's ironic as hell, at least to me, that Eli got both of his rings against the Patriots. Ironic because if it wasn't for the Patriots, Peyton probably wins a bunch of rings.
And it's easy to forget that Peyton actually does have 2 rings because there are probably posters on this board who can throw the ball better than Peyton could when he won his 2nd ring.
That's also ironic as hell too, Peyton puts up all those MVP numbers all those years with the Colts with all-pro weapons like Marvin Harrison, Wayne and Edge and he can only get one ring. Then when he can't throw the ball more than 15 yards he wins one with the Broncos.
Offense wins regular season games and gets the highlights, defense wins championships.

And capers wins contract extensions.

Those Giants SB teams probably cost the Packers a ring or two of their own.

The Giants have the worst coaching staff in the NFL no doubt, way to alienate your fan base. Looks like he made the right choice forcing his way from the chargers he has rings and Rivers has well nothing.

I have no hard feelings toward Eli Manning for those though. I blame GB not being focused for the 2011 game (so many TO's, the Hail Mary to end the half after allowing a RB to run 20 yards and then out of bounds the play before), and Favre for not wearing more layers and hand/feet warmers in the 2007 game.

That McCarthy coaching tree sure has turned out to be something.

Wow Casey Hayward won AFC defensive player of the month for the second time this season. That’s crazy. Apparently players flourish when they leave Green Bay on the defensive side of the ball and their careers die when they leave Green Bay from the offensive side.
I wonder why that would be.....

Brady pulling a Giannis and getting in Josh McDaniels face.

The other defensive player of the month for the AFC was Micah Hyde.

Wish Vikings Falcons was a 3:25 or the night game, I wanted to watch that one. Looks like it's a good one too.

After paying a lot less attention to the NFL since Rodgers got injured, I didn't realize how epic the Chiefs' collapse has been.
ETA: And yet, there's a chance they still win that surprisingly bad division.
