Interesting inside scoop into the hectic situation at Tennessee a few months ago:

https://www.rockytoptalk.com/2018/3/23/17154960/tennessee-football-documents-texts-show-dan-mullen-paul-johnson-les-miles-john-currie

Just before noon on Saturday, Nov. 25, Mullen messaged Currie: “Good luck today. Talked with Peyton last night. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow.”

According to the messages, Currie told Dowdle to sent Mullen a memorandum of understanding, and the two appeared to have contact scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, but his last message to Mullen on the night of Nov. 25 -- “So tomorrow work?” -- went unanswered.

Mullen was hired on Florida’s coach that Sunday.

Currie’s texts also reveal he was contacted by Georgia Tech’s Paul Johnson, Dallas Cowboys assistant Rich Bisaccia, and Brady Hoke, who wrote, in all caps,

"JOHN I HOPE YOU DO KNOW I WOULD LIKE TO BE YOUR HEAD FOOTBALL COACH I DO KNOW THE ENVIRONMENT WE LIVE IN AND WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE AT TENNESSEE!"

Brady Hoke is a dumb ****.

I think it was Albert Haynesworth that had some hilarious tweets pointing out that for whatever reason, Brady Hoke thought putting his D-Linemen 1-2 yards off the ball was some sort of tactical advantage. And then Georgia Tech rushed for like 1000 yards in the opener and Haynesworth was just shredding him.

Also missing our old friend always coming in early on this thread noting why Minnesota is a darkhorse this year and why he's excited for it (where did he go?).

I’ve been wondering that too. Hope he’s OK. :dontknow:

I assumed he would’ve popped up at the beginning of Gopher basketball season when things looked promising, but I don’t remember him.

I know that he had his MBA and was in law school at one of his 7 colleges so he probably (rightfully) is making better use of his time than we are.

I lost track of what his name was by the time he would have last posted. BucksPackGophsZags? I think he started at UW which would really throw a wrench into things...obviously can't have Gophs and Badgers in the same name.

Plus he had Marquette in his progression of schools.

This article is a steaming pile of crap.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/why-stanford-star-bryce-loves-absence-from-pac-12-media-day-sets-a-dangerous-precedent/

Put it this way: Try to envision Tim Tebow in his heyday skipping SEC Media Days of because, well, school. Right or wrong, that wouldn't have happened. The need to better himself, the conference and his school would have outstripped another summer school lecture.

God forbid a student actually go to school. The poor media not getting their big story.

If you want athletes to have to show up at press conferences pay them, otherwise STFU when they go to class.

A student athlete taking the student part of the athlete part instead of talking to the media. What an asshat.

Lying about domestic abuse knowledge should the ballgame for Meyer, but with ESPN burying the story he'll probably skate on by.

More evidence that Urban Meyer is and always has been a scumbag of the highest order. Oh, but he's a great recruiter so....

I wanna say, "I'm glad we (UW) run a clean program" but you never know. It's a shame when pretty much all of us would be surprised if anything actually happens.

It still amazes how anyone covers anything thing after the PSU and more recently MSU situations. They'd be in a much better place if they just reported right away and took the early PR hit.

It’s getting to be embarrassing to admit that I’m a fan of major college sports. The ncaa is a cesspool of terrible people, chasing the dollar rather than any mission.

They need to let the whole thing burn.
