In 2019 the Saints’ pick will have a 1st Round value. :)

Love that he has so much swagger on the field but is also super likeable off the field/in the locker room. If he turns out to be very good, he'll be in those Rodgers ads soon enough.

Packers 1st Round - Jaire Alexander

Post#264 » by M-C-G » Tue May 1, 2018 1:58 pm

So I am pumped to have him but can’t help but notice that even in the 2016 clips, he is too often way behind his guy and saved by bad throws. Otherwise he pretty easily gives up two or three more touchdowns and probably three less picks

The more I see and hear of Jaire, the more I love him. He absolutely has the CB swag, and we haven't had that in a long time.

Randall certainly had the T Buck / Ahmad Carroll swag. Thought they were so good they didn’t need to listen to coaches.

Jaire though seems smart and confident which is a big difference

Good point.

I like that he immediately had a taking to JJ. Hope the bond is there with others as well when we get to training camp.

That was the range that Davenport was expected to go in.

Except that's not even close to a valid comparison, and you know it. I'll give you $1,000 right now. But a year from now, you owe me $5,000. Would you do it?

Rumor has it that we had a trade with Seattle in place prior to the draft because they had no 2nd or 3rd rounder and wanted more picks. It was just contingent on us actually trading back into the range that we did. It was all set up by the Schneider-GB relationship.

no effing way.
but you really don't understand how picks are valued or economics.

You say I don't understand value or economics, yet you're missing one of the most basic principles. Time value of money. $1000 right now is not the same as $1000 a year from now.

I thought there maybe some news on this kid, but all I see is terrible metaphors of monetary equivalence.

As such, what Gute actually did was trade $10k for $8k today with an inflation adjusted $8k coming back next year. A 60% real return on investment is beatable if you catch a rocket, but I wouldn't bet on it. It was some great dealing.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

They said Rodgers made it no secret he was going at Jaire and Jackson in otas and everything I've seen so far seems like they're both impressing everyone. Jaire picked off Rodgers on the 1st day I believe.

I like to think of Jaire as more dynamic Sam Shields with less straight line speed. I have high hopes for him honestly.
