Preseason Game 3: Packers @ Raiders (9:30PM on Channel 27 in Madison)

Looks like Rodgers won't play today.

Injury report
Packers – WR Trevor Davis (hamstring), RB Devante Mays (hamstring) and WR Jake Kumerow (shoulder) are out; RB Aaron Jones (hamstring), DT Mike Daniels (thigh), T Bryan Bulaga (knee) and LB Nick Perry (ankle) are questionable. Raiders – RB DeAndre Washington (knee), kicker Eddy Piñeiro (groin) and T Breno Giacomini (knee) are among those not expected to play.

5 things to watch
1. Family reunion: This will be the first chance for some Packers fans and many players to see Jordy Nelson compete in a different uniform than the one he wore for 10 seasons. Raiders coach Jon Gruden said his starters will play into the second quarter, so there’s a good chance that Nelson, who is the No. 2 receiver behind Amari Cooper, will see action. It wouldn’t be surprising if 30-somethings Nelson and cornerback Tramon Williams match up against one another.

2. Neck and neck: The race between Brett Hundley and DeShone Kizer should heat up over the next week as the Packers sandwich two games around their final training camp practice. Hundley hasn’t gotten as many snaps as Kizer and may get the start. He appears to have a slight lead in the race and Kizer will have to be very productive to jump ahead.

3. The Daniels effect: Assuming defensive tackle Mike Daniels plays, this will be the first look at him and Mo Wilkerson together in the nickel defense. The two are being counted on to push the pocket from the inside and judging the way Daniels went after it in one-on-ones earlier this week, he’ll be pretty fired up to play. He missed almost two weeks with a thigh injury but was taking part in team drills this week.

4. Jonesing for Aaron: After next week, running back Aaron Jones won’t be seen on the practice field for two weeks, so he’s going to get some work either this week or next. Having missed a big chunk of camp with a hamstring injury, Jones needs the work. If he doesn’t play this week, he’ll probably play a lot against Kansas City.

5. Something’s a foot: Rookie punter JK Scott wasn’t very impressive last week and could use a rebound game. He has been working on speeding up his operation and it could be why he struggled a little. He’s extremely consistent in practice but he hasn’t carried that over to games, which has to be a little disconcerting to the Packers.

Can't understand how people are saying that Hundley has outplayed Kizer. I think it's been a wash at best, and Hundley would have to absolutely kill it in these final two preseason games to have a shot at holding onto the back-up QB spot.

I certainly understand injury risk but I'd also like to see all those young receivers play some real action with Rodgers. Especially with 2 division games out of the gate.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Even if it's close, I don't know how you don't have Kizer ahead based simply on him being younger and under contract longer.

If Hundley is ahead of Kizer he's either performing way better in practice (and no one has reported this) or it's McCarthy being a dofus.

It will be interesting to see our first team defense against their first team offense. But Pettine will play it vanilla.

It could be that they're planning on keeping 3 and dont feel good with Kizer as the #2 just yet.

If they keep 2 it'll be Kizer but if they keep 3 Hundley probably gets the nod as the backup

I really hope they don't waste a lot of time putting any other QBs out there other than Kizer and Hundley.

I dunno, they might have to get Boyle a lot of reps to satisfy the dad/uncle takes that we've got a really good one that we passed on like Callahan or Taysom Hill that they can fume about if [please god no] Hundley or Kizer have to get reps in the regular season.

Kizer needs to get time against better competition so that they can get a true comparison of what they are looking at.

I see more long term potential with Boyle than either of these 2. Yes Boyle needs to work on his accuracy but he has a better arm and throws a more catchable ball than both of them. he doesn't have that weak downward spiral like Hundley. I will say that Kizer showed great arm strength on an out pattern last game.

Boyle will continue to get fewer and fewer reps. They want to hide him on the PS. Man, this Kumerow injury is a bummer.

Game is finally on at a decent time for me. I hate the 7am games during the regular season. With my luck, the hurricane will probably knock out the power during the game today.
