I'm good with both deals. Ha-Ha was clearly going to be gone anyway and after Monty's f-up the clock was about to strike midnight. Not to mention that he was taking away potential carries from Aaron Jones.

Ya, we weakened depth at RB, and weakened an already weak Safety position.

But I think we strengthened the lockeroom. HHCD already had one foot out the door, Ty was blasting his teammates to the media and there's no way you can move forward with that.

The players who are still in the lockerroom want to be on that team, if you don't want to be there, GTFO. I like it. Props to Gute.

Can't have selfish players on the team.

Haha is a mixed bag. He's not fast enough to cover up for his mistakes in coverage (which there have been a bunch), he's not a great tackler, but he's not pure dog **** like MD Jennings. He's average. He makes the occasional big play, will screw up coverages here and there, and doesn't make an impact the rest of the time. Add in the mix he's talking about not being in GB next year, and the fact he felt he deserves to get PAID, it was better to cut losses earlier than later.

At RB, I agree, enough with the 3 series, 3 RBs BS. Jones is your #1, Jamaal is your 3rd down #2 back. DONE.

Two names that casuals recognize. That's all we lost. I don't think the on field production will be even remotely affected but we'll see. The locker room needed to be cleaned up I suspect.

ETA: as far as the goat debate goes, It's tough. Years from now they'll make some compilation of the 20 best throws on a football field. Rodgers will account for close to half of them. Brady on the other hand throws a terrific five yard slant and yells "let's go!" a lot. Really tough call.

Jk, but count me in the camp that thinks QB wins are as useless a stat as pitcher wins in baseball.

I really hope a coach comes out and explains more about Haha. If he was so uninterested this year I am curious why. My only thought is Mike Pettine didn't like something with Haha. Does Pettine prefer a playcaller/vocal leader at the Safety position? I mean who doesn't. But did Haha do that? I would say no by the way the defense had so many miss communications in the secondary with Haha the last few years. I mean we were really really bad the last few years with miss communications. Its one thing to get burnt because you don't have the physical tools.
Thoughts?
Side note: Jim Leonard was his safety in New York for 09-11.

I like that the cover article on ESPN’s home page is basically an indictment of McCarthy’s inability to maximize Rodgers’ potential.

I liked the article on ESPN better yesterday showing Coaching candidates for the Browns. MM was listed first...

Alexander has been better but I'm really confused why anyone would say Jackson hasnt looked good also. For a rookie hes been pretty good just not as good as Jaire

I haven't been impressed with him. His tackling has been pretty bad and seems like a lot big plays have happened off him. PFF has him ranked 70th I think

That's not to say I'm upset with the pick. Sometimes it takes a year or two for corners to find their game.

That I agree with. Like I said "for a rookie".

Jackson has been ok but you can tell he lacks that quick twitch that Alexander has. It's crazy to think him and Alexander were ranked so closely pre draft because you can watch the two of them for like 5 minutes and see jaire is a much much better prospect. I kind of wonder if Jackson ends up at safety eventually where he can use his ball skills more with plays in front of him.

If they redid the draft right now where does MVS get picked? 3rd round? Higher than that? The more I see of this dude the more I like.

I also think Alexander goes top 10 with how much teams value CBs.

Tra Carson promoted. He's Ty's replacement.

Hopefully he doesn’t see the field at all unlike Ty.

However this is a move that punts the season by creating a huge gaping hole that will need to be addressed.

If losing a player of nothing special caliber like Ha Ha causes the Packers season to be toast, the season wasn't going anywhere regardless.

Anytime Mike McCarthy is your head coach, your season is toast.

And also, while not his first choice for breakfast, Mike McCarthy LOVES toast.

Love it. Seems like a smarter player and probably a better tackler even if he gives up like 20 pounds to HaHa. Wonder where Breeland fits in on the depth chart.

We made the right moves. The next ones with Matthews and Cobb are more interesting to me though. I'd only bring them back if less than $5 million each otherwise move on. I think Gute is going to be good for us. Draft smart and pick up FA to help Rodgers. Next year I think we will look pretty good.

Excited about this game Sunday. I think it is lining up to be just like last week. As long as we are firing on both sides of the ball, should win this. Buffalo is garbage and hung in there, so should we.

I like that Gute addresses the media and tries to explain moves that are made. He doesn't have to but at least we get some insight. Of course there is spin involved and we don't get 100% of the real story.
