Pre-Season Game 2: Green Bay at Baltimore - 7:30 EST- Rodgers Out

Both excited and a wee bit worried to see the #1 Offense for the first time. The Ravens are a very formidable defense.

On the flipside, I never look forward to the Packers vs. <insert mobile QB1 here>. Jackson might run for 80-100yds in 1-2 qtrs.

I want to see how Pettine and the 1st team D plays Lamar. He's a dynamic QB that feasts on broken plays. Ill be interested to see if we spy him or if we play him the same way we played Webb last week and Lamar gets loose on us.

There were some pretty ridiculous takes for game 1. Can't wait for the same tonight with the starters playing a quarter. The offense will be pretty vanilla for those looking to jump on LaFleur.

The defense also will be pretty vanilla. Just need to look how our OL handle stunts and one-on-one possessions and same with the DL/LBs.

Pettine isn't going to "play him" at all. There won't be any game planning and getting reps in game time is more important for the #!'s than game planning the QB.

People love to constantly forgot that judging units based on a preseason game is about the least productive thing they can do.

Niether side really game plans.

Top guys dont care

Players are constantly rotated in and out

1/3 of the players playing wont be in the NFL within a month

These games are for evaluating INDIVIDUAL players. Couldn't care less if we win 40-0 or lose 0-40. I want to see which guys win their individual matchups, improve on their own technique, have a nose for the ball, improve their timing and those that look like they belong

Yea, I don't buy at all that what happens in the 1st quarter is meaningless. Maybe on MM's team for the last decade-plus, sure, but not a team with a completely new offense and young skill position players.

But many of those players are going to be crucial in the regular season when starters inevitably go down to injury. If they are incompetent when there is no game planning, it is a huge concern if we have to rely on them in the rgular season where other teams will be game planing to expose them. What is ridiculous is the hand waving away of bad performance and acting like all the needs to be done is flip a switch and they will automatically be awesome. The last few years are proof that that doesn't happen.

Bad performance by INDIVIDUAL players shouldnt be waved away. You take those to critique the individual player.

However useing the bad individual performance by a player that will likely be 3rd string or cut and useing that to say the unit he was on was bad because the player that sucked limited them isnt smart

Were you replying to the RRyder post? He did say that he wanted to see how players do individually, improvement and look like they belong. Not sure how you read that as imcompetent.

I guess in a 40-0 score it might be hard to find many players playing well.

At this point, kick the tires on the 1st team, and continue winnowing out the keepers from the cut.

Execpt they weren't all 3rd stringers and the ones you are going to count on the most started that game and were not good. Calling them all 3rd stringers is an act of hand waving away because the 2nd stringers weren't good either.

I never said anything about the score or cared about the score. That is a strawman. He is acting like everyone out there was a 3rd stringer that isn't going to play. I'm saying that many of them were 2nd stringers that are going to have to play and NONE of them looked good at all.
