t's funny what a hot name Lance Leipold was when Kansas was 5-0. Would the Badgers go after him, what other schools would try to poach him. Then they went 1-7 and here he is, still at Kansas.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I've never really had a problem with college football game lengths, even though yea they're long as balls.

Most of it is fine except for the part about starting the clock once the ball is spotted after a completion...that is not football.

Honestly, it's the BEING at games part that feels horribly long to me. I'm down for doing some things to help shave some minutes off the games to help balance things out, but the absolutely godawful part of sitting at a game (esp. in the cold/rain/snow) is how long TV timeouts and - especially - reviews take. When the game is moving it feels fine.

Length of games never bothered me. It's only ~12 games a year

Most probably can't get away with it, but I plan literally every Saturday in the fall around college football, and most of the time it's 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. The only variables are who I'm watching them with and what food we're making. I love the sport in a way I very much don't the NFL, where I generally only watch the Packers.

Yeah, not attending games in person, I don't care how long they are. Since I'm busy and live in a different time zone, I mostly record them and start late. That way I can speed through all the time in between plays and commercials.

Generally, in-person games (most sports) are too long. Looking at you MLB...

Reading the Northwestern hazing stuff. Fitzgerald is lucky he still has a job.

Northwestern now "reconsidering" the penalty. Big deal, maybe they'll up the suspension a bit. Gutless to not fire him.

When your star QB gets hurt it gets real hard for most schools.

Wild that this was a result of student journalism.

Said this on Twitter, but the thing to remember here is Northwestern concluded its investigation, found 11 current or former athletes to back up the hazing, and thought that two weeks suspension in the middle of the summer was sufficient punishment.

Yeah it reeks of hey this is **** terrible but he's the best coach we're ever going to get so let's see if we can get away with a two week suspension in the middle of summer and then everyone forgets about it type thing.

I first read about this yesterday and thought it was absurd he got two weeks. This was some sick ****. It is good that more came out and he ultimately got canned.

CaNCel CulTUre strikes again.
