ATL: Week 1 - Foles Broken Clavicle

Post#1 » by humanrefutation » Fri Sep 6, 2019 6:58 pm

Alright, the offseason is over. Time to start a clean thread.

Antonio Brown is scheduled to play on MNF, according to Raiders Coach Jon Gruden.

I’m thinking Brown will never play in the nfl again. Something serious is going on with him. At first it was funny but I’m deeply concerned about his well being at this point. Unraveling in front of the whole world.

It's amusing because it's happening to Gruden and the Raiders but honestly AB is not right in the head.

All this "not right in the head" or "he needs professional help" stuff is bs.

He's just a self entitled douche.

Before he got traded people I know jumped on me when I said the only way I take him on the Packers is if the Steelers traded us a 2nd round pick and I got nothing but weird looks..... Feels good to be right....... Even if even I didnt think this would blow up so quickly.

The Steelers have to feel vindicated

I don't get how the raiders and Drew rosenhause let this all play out in public. Like after the practice blow up the raiders do seem to have the right to pull his guarantees but shouldn't that have been done in a sit-down with brown and Drew and at that point both sides hash out if they can make this work going forward. Just a bad look for everyone.

I don't know what the Raiders could have done differently, apart from simply not trading for him in the first place.

You need consent in order to record someone in that state.

There is something wrong with the guy. He's going full Donald j trump on social media. I normally side with the players over contract disputes but ab is 100 percent wrong. I'd let him rot on the roster and not give him what he wants.

What's weird is he never was like this until the last year or two. I don't even think I've ever heard him speak or saw an interview with him that I can remember until last year.

Re: ATL: Week 1 - Brown Demands Release from Raiders

Post#19 » by humanrefutation » Sat Sep 7, 2019 3:14 pm

He's demanding his release, which I'm guessing means he'll end up on the Pats in a week.

The recording is really a hilarious non-factor, IMO. In fact, the only thing that he's done since his trade to the Raiders that deserves criticism is the way he's handled the past week - from going after Mayock (the details that have since been reported much of the blame on him for that fight) to the way he's taken this stuff to social media. None of these things are fatal on their own to his career prospects - it's not the first time, nor is it the last time, a player will beef with his team like this. But AB seems to lack a lot of self-awareness and doesn't THINK and weigh the consequences before he makes these decisions. That doesn't make him a bad person, but it does mean that he makes too many unforced errors.

He's framing this as "AB vs. The System" or authority or whatever. In actuality it's his employer, who is paying him tens of millions of dollars.

If he's so miserable or conflicted he can quit.
