Three, one of them likely the #1 overall, and like $100 million in cap space.

They also have the texans 2021 first in that awful trade for Tunsil.

The Minkah trade seems like the Steelers offered it before Big Ben went down and forgot to pull it after.

Miami should be tanking for Trevor Lawrence in 2021, IMO.

Yeah, I don't quite understand pulling the trigger on giving up a 1st with the Steelers season in flux right now.

They must and that's fine but it's still a reckless gamble when you're 0-2 and starting your backup QB.

It just seems like really odd timing. If you're willing to make this deal as the Steelers just trade that pick for Ramsey. Not sure what the Steelers cap looks like but it cant be that bad and Ramsey is a MUCH better player and a more known quantity

(Unless of course Jacksonville turned that pick down of course which I could see)

I think that the Steelers are painfully aware of how awful their secondary is and felt they needed to make sure they weren't in a bidding war.

Glad he went to Pitt and not an NFC team or the Patriots.

Don't have interest in Jalen Ramsey, though he's a great cover corner. Seems like he has the ability to deflate a locker room. Not sure how that 2017 D that should have beaten the Patriots in the AFCC became so bad the following year and into this year. You'd like to think that leaders on that team like Ramsey would hold things together.

They gave up 40 against KC, which obviously isn't good but if you're going to give up 40, giving it up to KC is probably the most forgivable. Last year they gave up the 2nd fewest pass yards per game, had the 6th best QB rating against and were tied for 4th in points allowed. They were a great defense last year, the reason they sucked is because that offense was horrendous.

After the 2018 draft I said Browns should've went Barkley, Chubb, Lamar. I get that Lamar still has alot to prove since he just beat two of the worst teams in the league but man they would be so good right now had they gone that route.

Chubb and Garrett together on defense....Barkley and Lamar......of course it comes down to coaching too which I don't think they hired the right guy.

I am glad Lamar went to a better organization with a better coach.

Or they simply thought: "We will have a #5 pick at best, is there anyone at #5 that is better than Fitzpatrick?"

Maybe they really like Fitz and he will also be playing under their system for one year, so it's better than a brand new rookie when Big Ben is almost retiring, their time frame is about to finish and they have to act fast.

Also, it seems that Mason Rudolph is not like the next Kizer

You love your draft victory laps and I still think they made the right choice, though I am the noted "Lamar can't pass accurately" guy that will admit he's wrong if he keeps it up against decent defenses.

It seemed to be the general consensus of, "there are 3 good QBs you might want, trade back and get whichever one falls!" which is the only completely wrong way to go there. Sure, they could've maybe had Saquon but they'd have Rosen or Darnold and still suck. Same thing with Kyler/Rosen when a lot of people were suggesting they trade the #1 pick going into this year. Amassing picks/draft value doesn't mean **** if it means not getting the QB you want. Do that at all costs.

Think that's a reasonable price for Fitzpatrick and not one I'd want to top.

Kevin Colbert is 62 years old and on the last year of his deal. Rooney said they are going to evaluate this year and I'd assume he's gone after the year if the Steelers don't make any noise, which isn't going to happen without Big Ben and the defense what it was.

That move was to save this season, and ultimately his job. Who cares if the Steelers have a first next year if you aren't the General Manager anymore?

Rumor is Ramsey will be in silver and black OR Green and gold by the end of the week.

I would trade Gary and King for him straight up lol....doubt they take that. Really, I don’t see it.

Let's move over to the week 3 thread.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Return to Green Bay Packers
