Somebody tell this moron Michigan QB how to slide so that he doesn't get himself killed. This is the problem with all this targeting BS. Stop putting the onus for player safety 100% on the defense while completely absolving the offensive player of any responsibility. This isn't **** football anymore.

They need to come up with better implementation. For example, a guy could have the worst, most egregious, intentional targeting penalty committed on the last play in the first half of a game and only miss a half. However imagine that first targeting penalty being called on the first play of the second half. Guy would have to miss basically a full game.

This is a great point! It’s the equivalent of signaling for a fair catch at the very last moment before you get hit.
