What's your opinion about Matt LaFleur?

Just want to bring this topic to discussion, I won't talk a lot about it, because I'm not a specialist like you guys, but I think a real thread is better to discuss this kind of thing than a Game Thread.

But what are you thinking about Matt LaFleur? He was brought to improve our Offense, but it's clearly not working, if not for our D and ST (except last night), we would have a negative record by now.

For example, our 4 pass attemptsat 1-yard line and then another pass at 5-yard line killed our chances to win the game and I'm not even talking about the 2 FGs in the first half and our run game playing really bad until the very end of 4th quarter.

He also didn't had a good record as O-Coordinator last year with Titans (although their team is garbage).

Is it his fault? Not enough weapons? Has Godgers regressed?

Discuss :D

Too early.

Looks like he doesn't have enough weapons, is still learning how to coach/game manage, and has to deal with an aging QB that is hit or miss.

Last night he was awful.

I'm impressed with the scheme, and extremely underwhelmed with the decision making. Last night he sucked.

Would rather have Zac Taylor, but at least he's not Mike McCarthy, although they share a similar *get the run going by committee* approach. Hoping he continues to adapt to having Aaron Rodgers as his QB, motioning guys into mismatches, utilizing Aaron Jones more, etc.

Grade INC for now.

We only punted twice last night, but also went 3 for 7 in the RZ. So a mixed bag.

Perfect teeth. Nice smell. A class act all the way.

I really can't judge much of him, yet. I'd say his decision-making has been underwhelming at times. I haven't watched the All-22 feed, but I haven't gotten the impression that he's scheming guys open that well. But we've played some tough defenses, and the offense is getting better week after week. I do like the reintroduction of the screen game into this offense - something I think was woefully inadequate under Mac over these last few years.

Team game. He is 3-1. All that matters.

Meh. He's got a learning curve too. We'll see how quick he is to adapt himself and the team to the strengths and weaknesses of this roster, and any injury-related changes that need to take place.

Way too early. Let’s see where the team is at come December.

I’m still in the camp that the organization/TT crapped the bed on talent acquisition. We’ve got a lot of second tier backup guys playing starting roles on offense.

Agreed... Way 2 early. I think the offense will diversify as we head forward. Need more hurry up/2 minute drill mixed in, that's ARods claim to fame.

He has seemed to lose that part of his game the last few years, and has devolved into an old school wanna be P.Manning type. Unlike Manning... the inflection, snap game has become the focus too often. I really think that is a big reason the run game is hurting. Imagine being on the line waiting for the 14th Hut to come around all whilst the d line just tunes that out and waits for Linsley to make the snap.

It just takes away from the rhythm of momentum. When the pre snap movements and the later are mixed up... I think we see some evolutionary potential. Integration should develop as the season progresses.

Too many whiffs in that department in the mid 10's. Gute has upgraded the pass defense pretty well - which required pushing the cap. There's still plenty of need for roster improvement

If he can take a group of misfits to the dodgeball championship, he can get this team to the Superbowl.

Yeah no argument from me they had a couple bad drafts that hurt. But I'd also say with how quickly NFL rosters turn over by next season the TT's bad draft excuse is done it's Gutes team by that point. And on the positive side I'd say most incoming GMs would be thrilled to inherite a franchise QB, best LT in the game, and one of the best young dlineman in the game, and an elite WR. It's not like stepping into the Jets job or something like that which you need years to recover and build.

As far as MLF its way to early to judge, so far he's been fine.

Seems fine. I'd be interested to see how he'd do with building up a QB his way and doesn't come with bad habits already instilled.

I like him so far. I really think play action/run is the key for Aaron's golden years and I think he knows how to call it.

However, we'll get a BIG clue against Dallas to see if the guy knows how to game plan. We have more time to prepare.
