We'll see what the Pats are really made of when they play the Jets next week....lol. On Monday night too, yuck. I don't take anything away from the Pats overall success, but holy shat have they had a cupcake schedule so far.

There is never any reason to challenge PI unless it's in the playoffs in a huge situation because they're never going to overturn it otherwise. I can't wait until there is a blatant PI in the playoffs, a team challenges it and then a call is finally overturned. Then the NFL is going to have the problem of people going back all throughout the season of blatant calls that weren't overturned and having to explain those. It's hilarious how they constantly shoot themselves in the dick.

I think I've only seen one actually overturned and given a PI and even that was iffy at best. It was when Pitt played Seattle and Lockett kind of exaggerated a spin in the air on a pseudo hail mary and they gave the PI.

Not for nothing but we have seen a pass interference added on through review this year against Minnesota (even though it was admittedly a bad call).
Personally I'm fine with "unless he's being stabbed it stays the same" mindset the refs are taking with reviews on it although I think the unintended bonus being teams might be less likely to run obvious pick plays near the goal line now because of it

Brady with 6 completions to undrafted rookie free agents last night. I hope A Rod watched the game, could learn something. Gotta trust these guys.

I am pretty sure at least 10 NFC teams would be at least 5-1 and probably 6-0 against NE's schedule.

"NFL coaches have failed on 20 of their past 21 challenges for pass interference this season, a trend that could discourage them from using the league's marquee rule change in 2019.
Overall, there have been seven reversals in 40 pass interference-related reviews since the start of the season, including those initiated by the replay official in the booth. But coaches have grown increasingly frustrated by their inability to get calls changed in what seem to be clear instances of a mistaken call."[/code]
As others have mentioned, it appears to be a complete waste of a challenge for teams to try and overturn PI

Once coaches figure out that they're not overturning PI they will hopefully stop challenging so many. I think it's nice to have a safety net if there is a blown call that's egregious and changes the outcome of the game.

Yeah, the PI thing has been such a joke. Granted, it has provided some great comic relief during the game stoppages. Nothing like hearing the former head of officials or whoever the hell is in the booth agreeing with the commentators that it's an obvious pass interference only for it not to be called.
Slow every play down and zoom in, you'll find a penalty somewhere. Scrap it if they're not going to call what they do find.

Pats looking for a WR
So who is the team eyeing? Howe says there’s hope within the Patriots organization that they could pry wideout Stefon Diggs away from the Vikings. It’s uncertain if Minnesota would consider trading the star receiver (the front office has said they won’t), and a deal would likely require a first-rounder. If another team engages in Diggs trade talks, then New England may be required to give up even more draft capital.
Assuming the Pats don’t end up with Diggs, Howe suggests a number of names that could be of interest to the defending champs. The organization had previously shown interest in Broncos receiver Emmanuel Sanders and Falcons wideout Mohamed Sanu, and Howe also points to former Pro Bowlers A.J. Green and Larry Fitzgerald. (Although, their availability seems unlikely.) The rest of the writer’s potential targets include Nelson Agholor (Eagles), Randall Cobb (Cowboys), Allen Hurns (Dolphins) and even Demaryius Thomas, whom the Patriots traded to the Jets back in September.
Complicating the Patriots’ pursuit of a receiver is their limited cap space; the team is currently sitting with $3M. The team could clear up some room by extending Brady, Devin McCourty or Dont’a Hightower. Considering the team’s front-seven depth, the Patriots could also consider trading defensive end Michael Bennett

Could be a nice demoralizing Vikings loss here if Eagles come back.
