I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Watch Coan get the job and then show up in the playoff while Mertz disappoints. That would make me want to die.

I guess I’m the only one that doesn’t think Coan is bad?

Coan is definitely not a bad QB relative to college football standards. The upside however is Mertz and his time is now. Wish Coan tons of success for the fighting chokers.

Coan is definitely not a bad player. He has a limited skill set, but what he has he utilizes well. I think if we hadn't had Mertz sitting on the bench, Coan's year would have been viewed differently by Badger fans.

But agreed, it's Mertz's time at this point. Especially since Coan wouldn't have saved this season and made us contenders, anyhow. Too many holes and guys sitting out for whatever the reasons.

No, Coan is a pretty good college QB and has an outside shot at making an NFL roster for a little while. The fact that ND wants him with some highly touted recruits means that he has a chance to start at a premier program.

I got much more down on Mertz as the season went by and of course a lot of that may be due to a run of tough defenses + missing a lot of weapons...but one silver lining is remembering that Coan struggled in roughly the same amount of games in his first action. So maybe Mertz will make a leap of consistency (with a higher ceiling) next year.

Kevin Marks Jr. is in the transfer portal. He'd be a hell of a get if the Badgers are hunting for a RB.
