I think we have to trade up for the Oklahoma MLB.

Been asking for a trick play where Adams passes the ball all season.

Finally get one.......in the Probowl

Maybe but thanks to the devaluation of ILB we see talented ILBs fall very often. Unfortunately even when they fall to us, we pass because we also don’t seem to care about the position. Hopefully this isn’t the truth if he falls to us.

I really want to see another year of aggressive in FA to fill some of the glaring needs. In fact, like last year, there’s 3 spots on the defensive side of the ball id love to target. DL and ILB are tied for first and you could almost make the argument for getting more than one at either spot. But my wildcard third guy is another safety. I know we have 2 good ones but I’m thinking of how often they liked to go to 3 safety looks, I’m looking to do that a lot but with a more talented 3rd safety than Raven Greene.

DL-
Chris Jones or Arik Armstead would be fantastic, although they may not be realistic. There are a ton of interior DT types on the market as well and having Clark would not prevent me from having another big body on the line. Lowry, Lancaster, Adams etc are not good enough. Last year was great showing up the edge, now it’s time to do the same with some beefy blocker eating D lineman.

Perfect world, give me Armstead and one of Leonard Williams, DJ Reader, Danny Shelton, Shelby Harris, Jarran Reed, Gerald McCoy, Andrew Billings

ILB-
Current group: kill it with fire. I’m okay keeping Burks as like the 3rd or 4th but also okay if they think there’s nothing there. Littleton would be great, especially if they don’t land one of the top DL guys. Other options that would be clear upgrades would be Schobert and Van Noys from NE. I wouldn’t be opposed to both. Van Noys can kinda do everything and Schobert would be the primary cover ILB.

S
It just seems like there’s a lot of talented hybrid safeties available that it would be a mistake to not upgrade that spot. Someone that is your primary nickel guy and can either be used in the slot, against TE/RB, or as a rover. Jimmie Ward would be fantastic and is a perfect hybrid since he’s played both. I’m not sure which safety you’d take off in the base and I’d be tempted to take an ILB off instead and play a lot of 3-3 or 2-4 nickel.

Damarious Randall would be an upgrade over Raven Greene.

DL- Armstead, Clark, Billings or Shelton
LB- Smith, Schobert, Smith
CB- Alexander, King
CB/S - Jimmie Ward
S - Savage, Amos

I realize it’s not likely we can afford all those guys, I’m just having fun.

But I would prioritize adding to the front 7 by adding big bodies on the line to help out Kenny Clark and someone at ILB that can cover someone.

Option 1 is Chris Jones because he is really good and helps the run defense and pass rush.

Option 2 is Armstead for me because I would start him on the DL and him and Z both on the right side would be basically interchangeable and cause nightmares for opposing olines.

Option 3 is depth to the front 7 by adding two big bodies on the DL(pick 2 listed above) and adding 2 of Littleton, Schobert, Van Noy.

I’d have no problem with drafting a WR in the first and then drafting several inside linebackers later. Look for raw talent and take some fliers. Guys that can fly to the ball should not be that hard to find.

Be good to see some more disruption from the inside 3 DL. Really disappointing that Gary wasn’t given a chance against San Fran. Gap control and dependence on our snail, small LB didn’t work.

When the Packers drafted Gary, after signing the Smiths, I assumed he was seen as a long-term replacement for Mike Daniels as a 3-4 DE. But yeah, he never really got a regular chance to fill that role. He's a little lighter than Daniels, but he seems to have the frame to put weight on without losing his athleticism.

He can have "strong opinions" but if was any good as a DC he'd still be a DC.

Looks like he could put on a little. He’s 6’5” 278. Why do we need 300+ lb guys playing the DE when the Smiths are such big linebackers? We need quickness to go with them, not bulk.

FA should be used on defense, specifically DL. Guys like Hargrave, Brockers, etc to help plug the run.

Maybe grab a couple of offensive vets like Eifert and Agholar, but I'd spend high draft capital on WR.

I dont think they will take another chance by not making a big move for an offensive playmaker.
Some good TEs available. Hope we look to sign 1. Than a Vet WR.

Packers seeking new WR coach after Alvis Whitted dismissal
Tom Silverstein, Packers NewsPublished 6:46 p.m. CT Jan. 30, 2020

https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2020/01/30/green-bay-packers-seeking-new-wr-coach-after-alvis-whitted-dismissal/2859895001/

GREEN BAY - Before Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur filled a coaching void on defense, he created one on offense.

LaFleur fired wide receivers coach Alvis Whitted last week, according to a source.

The Packers did not make an announcement of Whitted’s dismissal or the departure of secondary coach Jason Simmons, who accepted a job with the Carolina Panthers.

General manager Brian Gutekunst is expected to use free agency and the draft to build up the receiver position this offseason, so LaFleur will need someone to help develop the talent. It’s possible Gutekunst could add three receivers from the draft because it is one of the deepest drafts at the position in many years.

LaFleur, who is attending Super Bowl LIV to be with his brother, Mike, who coaches for the San Francisco 49ers, will probably start interviewing candidates next week.

Ok, did a bunch of mock off seasons...the best results seem to;
1. keep Bulaga
2. let Blake go
3. Sign Littleton AND Travethon
4. Sign a FA tight end, maybe two of them, grab one of Henry/Hooper and a guy like Stocker to be the new Mercedes
5. Draft a OL early
6. WR depth in round 2-4, I hate myself for saying it, but I just couldn't pass on the speed available in this draft

If you could somehow add Robby Anderson or AJ Green into the mix, it would be a very good offseason.
