Is Mims even a true slot guy? He seems like he'd lineup on the outside at 6'3, no? Most of his routes were back shoulders, fades and vertical routes.

Reagor, Ruggs, Hamler, Aiyuk, and KJ Hill seem like more of that prototypical, smaller, speed slot guy.

If he is replacing GMo, there is no way we got slower. 40 times be damned, GMo never out ran anyone.

Mims definitely looks like a boundary guy to me. But, you could always give Adams more slot reps. But I would prefer trying to get one or two guys that can make plays after the catch and then put some actual focus on Rodgers getting guys the ball where they can run.

Right. Those two sentences back to back were very confusing. If he's replacing G-mo we did not get slower, if he's replacing MVS, we did. I'm pretty underwhelmed by this addition but if he's better than those two, and one of EQ/MVS/Kumerow make a jump, and we draft a slot guy high... then we should come out ahead from where we were last year in the pass catching department.

Still pretty meh to me. Is he notably better than that MVS/EQ/Kumerow group? Sincerely asking.

want the best damn playmaker available. need speed and playmakers on offense and a MLB that can make plays on defense.

I'm kinda surprised we didnt see more Davante slot this year. I recall last offseason there being a lot of talk of MLF offense being willing to use a larger than normal slot WR. If the top 3 are DA/Funchess and one of 16/19/83 then I'd think Davante is the best suited to run in the slot. Obviously, draft still to come but even still, go guarantee we add a guy that's for sure in that top 3(I sure hope we do).

I’d take Allison in a race.

I thought Funchess ran way better at his pro day because he listened to people who changed his running style for the combine and it messed him up?

The Funchess signing seems like a lateral move. Who is he supposed to replace, or even give serious competition to? The other signings made sense to me, but this one doesn't. Not terrible, but kinda pointless.

Understood. I am going to reserve judgement until after the draft, because there are just so many WR I like in this draft, if they get any of them, I'll be happy with the unit overall.

Really makes you wonder why they tendered Kumerow so aggressively, maybe they are thinking about him being a starter?

Agreed. I think he is the insurance in case MVS or Eq St. Brown don't look like they made a leap. They are probably willing to cut bait on one of those guys. If they do make a jump, great, more options to figure it out

I'd love to see them experiment with him back at TE again. Could be a nice mismatch.

He doesn't nessesarily need to be a 'real' TE, just plug him into Graham's spot on plays where the TE was lined up off the line.

With Lazard, EQ, MVS and now Funchess we lead the league in big wideouts. Not sure we need another big WR that has the drops. Can't beat the price though.

I see us drafting a WR in the 2nd round.

So I know its early but who makes the top 6?

Adams
Lazard
MVS
Funchess
Kumerow
Rookie

ESB
Shepard
Begelton

Got this from tom silverstein take it for what its worth

If Funchess deal is vet minimum exception, similar to what Nelson Agholor signed in Oakland, the #Packers got a bargain. In that case, he would get slightly over $1M and his cap would be $750,000. We'll see when the deal becomes public. Funchess made $10M last year

Unless the money is wrong, I don't see how anyone can be down on the Funchess signing. His best year was better than any receiver on the roster not named Adams, and he is only 25. That's the whole point of this process. Improving as many positions as possible if it makes financial sense.
