Mock Drafts Thread

Post#1 » by M-C-G » Mon Apr 20, 2020 7:59 pm

Starting a separate thread because if I put this in the Draft thread people whine too much. So let's keep this open until the draft this week and then we can shut it down.

Here are three free mock draft websites. PFF is great, but I also really like TDN because they have a ton of scouting analysis available right inside the draft.

Fanspeak allows you to use different Big Boards from analyst so you can mix it up.

I'd do more mock drafts but honestly I don't know enough about the prospects outside of the first couple rounds in order to make a reasonable pick. I'd basically be throwing darts.

Use the draft network one. This is actually how I 'study' for the draft. You find yourself in positions, like I want an ILB in the third round. Then you click around and look at the different names available.

Do enough of them and you get exposure to all sorts of players you never heard about before.

I like the first pick one, but every year I end up disappointed because the real draft isn't even close to what I mock draft.

The first two TDN attempts I did, both featured big runs on WR's and OT's. Micheal Pittman or Josh Jones.

Curious what other receivers you had available at 62, Johnson should be around in the 4th.

There was a massive run on receivers, which is one of the reasons I traded down. However, there was a good selection of Tackles. Which made trading down tough. I just valued the Giants 1st. Hoping they have a terrible year and we get a great pick next year.

Also, one of the things I have noticed in the mocks, after doing a couple. Either some of the top edge guys drop into the 2nd and 3rd or some of the CBs do the same. I find this odd based on how the NFL values these positions. Just seem a bit unrealistic to me.

I wanted to, but I kept finding gems that I couldn't pass up! I guess you could probably have swapped Woodward and Dillong with OL developmental prospects.

I like the first two picks. My problem with Moss and Cephus, I don’t know either gives us something that we don’t already have. I’d either like to add more playmaking rub after the catch, or speed to create mismatches. If you flipped Moss with Albert O and Cephus with a speed/YAC guy I’d like it a lot more. But I am very bias because I feel so adamant the roster is void of it other than Adams and Jones.

I actually think Cephus would be a solid addition. I don't think we have any reliable route runners and good hands guys outside of Adams and Lazard. Cephus would be a nice option over the middle.

30. Kenneth Murray LB
62. Raekwon Davis IDL
94. António Gibson RB / WR
136. Jack Driscoll OT
175. John Hightower WR
192. Dane Jackson CB
208. Dalton Keene TE
209. James Robinson RB
236. Kevin Dotson IOL
242. Tremayne Anchrum OT

This was from a mock simulation on the draft network site. I was throwing darts at people I didn’t know based on position after RD 5. I love Gibson and hope he becomes a Packer. Super exciting player.
