Any current estimate of when Clark and Adams are available?

Also, anybody new dinged up from last night, where they might be questionable for the Atlanta game?

My hunch is with a bye week upcoming after this game that both Clark and Adams sit. I guess it depends on how close they were to playing last night. Sounds like Clark was a no go for sure while Adams was testing it on the field before the game.

Atlanta likely rolls up points and hopefully our offense doesn't have a clunker of a game (which all teams have at some point). Then again maybe Atlanta's offense has a bad game. Ridley has been fantastic, I don't know Julio's status.

ultimate trap game...Falcons are in disarray and the Packers might be feeling too good about themselves. Add in the upcoming bye and it all points to disaster.

I'm so damn impressed with the playcalling...I think this is what MLF wanted to do last year but caved a bit to Rodgers. Rodgers seems bought in and frankly playing like he did in his prime. Such a shame we have so many FA decisions because this team is really really good.

since the SB year and the following season, i have not seen so many WRs/TEs wide open. The motion, play action, and routes have been superb. Tight ends and backs are being utilized a ton in the passing game. Lazard is slow as hell and trips all over himself, yet he's running down the field wide the hell open multiple times a game.

One other thing with all of the Packers receivers and RB's, they'll block downfield (or at least a reasonable facsimile of a block).

Absolutely. Id guess Lazard blocks about as well as 50% of the TEs in the NFL right now.

Jones deserves credit from going from a liability in blitz pick-up to pretty good. Williams is an absolute stud at it.

I will say the one condumrem I'm having with the offense is why one 1 yard to go situations they shown zero interest in giving Dillon some burn and a chance to move the pile.

It seems like they want to spread it out in those situations and run out of the shotgun alot so far in those situations which I understand going with Jones there. But even when they gone to a heavy package they've preferred to stay with Jones or go with Williams.

Sure I can get behind them not being comfortable with in the passing game and as such if you want to keep the D guessing left n right go with someone else if Dillon isn't there yet. But if the call is smashmouth up the gut give the kid a chance. He's looked good in admittedly very limited touches so far.

All that said if thats the biggest problem I'm having with the offense through 3 games things are looking really good

Atl can put up serious points in a hurry. The Packer offense will need to remain sharp in this one.

I'm expecting a similar game to the one against NO. Lots of points!

I think Matt will be looking into this as the season progresses. Right now they are still unpredictable on the short yardage because those two backs can do multiple things. The play action is still deadly.

I'm wondering if the trust issue, comfort issue, and if putting dillion there telegraphs the run and it's less guessing on the D.

Right now I love we keep the defenses guessing with our lineups. And the playaction is being run to perfection. I see those running holes opening and backs going in and lbs suck in Rodgers rolling and it's all wide open.

It's incredible.

We wanted flexible. We wanted versatile. We wanted creativity. We wanted modern. Both Jones and Williams give us great hands out of the backfield and at times, New Orleans had to dedicate LBs to coverage for Jones in particular. That little extra freeze necessary for preparation of coverage can be the difference between a TD and a stuff at the line of scrimmage. I think the drive in the third, they snuffed out a route to the corner of the endzone targeted for Jones on the left. Exhibit A of that dedicated man. I guess for me, I don't want to be the team that lines up and plays smashmouth football. I'd rather have a defense have to think than know, "We're going to run it at you and you can't stop us."

Also worth noting that Dillon is probably pretty damn far behind in pass-pro given the Covid context of this season, and given our most important player being Rodgers, we can't really afford mistakes there.

The thing is while I do understand your overal point (and said as such in my original post) there are/have been times were that was the case and yet they still rolled with Jones.

Any updates on Deguara. After seeing Rodgers abuse New Orleans with that group of tight ends it makes me that much more excited to get Josiah into the mix. In just one weeks worth of film I saw enough to be bullish on his potential.

With no preseason and limited offseason programs, I don't have much of any expectations for the rookies on offense this year.

Thought he looked good myself. But I also think Tonyan (and even Sternberger) has looked good too. Its a system thing, maybe?

Speaking of TEs, I wonder what kind of counters the Pack can run for that PA-bootleg-to-TE pass play to punish teams when defenses inevitably commit to stopping that play? I get its play-action so the “counter” is already built-in (i.e., hand the ball off) but I imagine sometime soon, DCs will drill their LBs to stick w our TE no matter what—that play is too dangerous to not try and take away—what then? What else opens up if LBs overcommit to our TEs there?

Gotta prepare for teams to try and take that away. Its too good a play.
