If anything I'd flip it. Plenty of chances for the d to make stops but they quite literally cannot get off the field.MissKhriddleton wrote:Defense sucks and the offense isn’t elite enough to make up for it despite plenty of opportunities to do so. Same **** different year.

Unless the defense has a substantial performance turnaround, starting this week, I'd guess Pettine is gone the morning after the last game.
Gute should be a tad nervous too, with a real mixed history of roster moves (draft, FA, and trades). He's not terrible, but he's not remarkable either. However, I don't see Gute being in trouble till Murphy steps down, and I'm not sold on either guy.

Murphy is 65. Harlan was 70 when he announced he was retiring (he stayed longer due to the botched hiring of Jones as his replacement). Hard to say how long Murphy will stay on. I think he's done a better job on the business side than on the football side.
I think the Packers have an official age limit on the role (70 maybe?) so Murphy's time is coming soon.MickeyDavis wrote:Treebeard wrote:Ron Swanson wrote:Said it plenty of times before but there's too much talent on this defense for them to be this bad, and this Bears offense is as inept as NFL offenses get. FWIW, Looking at the Bears depth chart, there is no third QB listed.
